I like both Tiestos but for different reasons. I used to love the stuff he did a few years back but if he were to still be doing the same, I would have been quite bored by now. The uplifting sound has been played in my opinion to the point where it is starting to sound too, for lack of a better word 'fabricated'. It seems as though most of the uplifting tunes follow the same pattern and I'm starting to get tired of it. I welcome the change.

However, I couldn't agree more with those who say Traffic is his worst production yet. I still listen to his live sets but my favourite is still Magik 6. Even though I listen to his live sets I feel that there are other DJs that I would rather listen to since his mixing isn't always spot on. Even when you look back at his earlier sets, his mixing wasn't perfect either. Now that my ear can pick up on this, I tend to steer away from Tiesto altogether since you can find errors in his mixing. Even Magik 6, a set that many consider to be one of their favourites has a mistake in it as far as I can tell. Whenever I hear the mix out of voyage it sounds like nails on a blackboard to me. Maybe its just the nature of the beats of the two songs but it drives me crazy. If this is the case then the track selection was lacking because the mix was quite poor in my opinion.

OLD TIESTO!!! duh!

Summerbreeze made me a TA. I was addicted to Magik 7 for a while, and I continue to LOVE all the Magik series. In Search of Sunrise is AMAZING! nowadays though...tiesto = BLEH. even his productions have gotten really repetitive and empty, save for a few (Traffic, Tears from the Moon remix...) in his old days, he was producing CLASSICS ----> Flight 643, remix of Silence, Sparkles, and tons of other stuff. now he just bores me. i haven't listened to a tiesto liveset in about a year. i wish he'd go back to his old style...

I love both !

The Uplifting melodies have made me dream but the possibility to listen to trance and techno tunes in the same set like tiesto can do that so perfectly , is really amazing !

it depends.....
if i'm gong to see him live then definitely present day.
if at the beach with coronas, then older....
but it really comes down to where he's spinning.
whether 2day or 4 years ago, live he bangs it hard,
releases are much more chilled like in search of sunrise....

i think, this is hard to say...because he can only play the tracks which were produced. and so in my opinion the qualitiy of his sets are connected with the qualitiy of the productions.
