What about Tieto's Traffic?

I'm still looking for that one.

Shame / Disagreement "Traffic" is a fine track, but ,....

Traffic is a great tune by Tiesto, but definitely not his best. I can pick a few tracks from his In My Memory CD that I like more .... for example, Flight 643 & Suburban Train

right on. sampling is 100% legit in our times and scene. Hardly any tonal melodies out there are original, this is the 21st century.

Actually sampling is an art form....ask coldcut..tho they never paid the artists they sampled (or some..who knows)...then again...to them it was an art form. Sean Deason is a fucking genius but I think people need to stop pretending that certain artists never sample work or never borrow sounds. If done correctly, it makes for great tracks and happy people....not like josh wink and his sampling (COUGH*THIEF*COUGH). Look what sampling did for norman cook...he is a household name.

an artform indeed, even in the academic world. Canadian composer John Oswald was sued by the RIAA and Michael Jackson back in 1989 for his CD Plunderphonics, which is all made with samples of pop tunes. i think the CD is genius, but now he's not even allowed to sell it commercially. however, how do you know where to draw the line? that's an open ended question in legal terms. composers have been at least quoting or borrowing melodies for centuries, is that legit? just like van gogh would do his own remix of a painting by Rembrandt, should that be illegal too? i don't think so, it's just a 're-interpretation'. one thing is quoting and re-interpreting a melody or an idea or a theme like Tiesto's doing with Traffic and another thing is to steal. it's hard to be objective when we're talking about art though.

I could not have been said better. It's not the greatest track, but it gets u pumped up at parties.

Actually the first people to really get in trouble for sampling was double dee and steinski and they used samples without permission and got into a bunch of nasty lawsuits.

Posted by Ste on Sep-29-2003 14:12:

tiesto copies another tune.

a good one though...

Posted by torontotrance on Sep-29-2003 14:12:

Cuz Sean Deason is a genius

Posted by UnBracKo on Sep-29-2003 14:25:

I've heard this track at home and clubbing. Ow great difference! Well, for listening at home no it's a great tune but when this summer I was at Amnesia and Tiesto played this tune... all the clubbers started to jump was amazin'!!
So absolutely agree with TA's who said the difference of listening this track at home and at a party.

I like it, and to my surprise I don't even dislike hearing the radio edit on radio every day

With an actual credit this time

It's Good, but not espectacular. I think Tisto is going to be on the 'Flight 643' style for a moment. As he said on his forum, he isn't going to become commercial, and he said that Fligh 643 and Traffic aren't commercial songs, and is OK, but I want the old Tisto back, with the uptlifting and more melodic style.

I liked Nyana very much. Does somebody know if Nyana and Traffic are going to be released soon on a album like 'In My Memory'?

I agree wholeheartedly on this, I listened to a quicktime version of a vid of it off a website and seemed pretty cool. Along the lines of Flight-643. Hope they don't try to vocalize it.

Posted by Wretched on Sep-29-2003 21:52:

It's gotten to the point where Tiesto could fart into a microphone and receive praise for it.

This track is nothing to write home about, and if anyone other than Tiesto had released it, you never would've heard it in the first place.

Posted by djsoze on Sep-29-2003 22:15:

Traffic is a pretty good track. Didnt like it when I first heard it, but I think it grows on people. The crowd went crazy when Tiesto dropped it at dance valley.

Posted by euphoria attack on Sep-29-2003 22:20:

i think the track is good, but its overrated in the community imho.

Posted by Pareez on Sep-30-2003 02:58:

Traffic

For me, it's a different sound from Tiesto, not his typical production. But loud, it's a great tune, to throw in as floor filler in the middle of set. Can really get the crowd going.

Posted by starglider on Sep-30-2003 03:14:

For me, what makes it great is the anticipation that builds up prior to the second break where we get teased with a bit of a melody before the relentless beat kicks back in, harder than before. For a 7-minute track it progresses nicely with new elements being added up until the 5-minute mark and two distinct breaks, so it doesn't get boring. A great, simple track.

Yes if you drop it @ highest volume for the crowd.
At home it sounds rather primitive...

traffic is nothing more than a boring banging tune IMO !

"TranceHead - Someone who doesn't get bored easy" - Ishkur

You seriously need a new genre if you think it gets boring, this song kicks ass, the dark driving melody is excelent, if you get bored in a song like this i dont know why you listen to trance. After about 3 months of that Euphoric fluff over and over and over it all runs together sounding the same with the exception for the major classics, as a DJ your mouth waters when you get a floor filling energetic track like traffic. Saying a song like this gets boring would make me think you would get bored in Kamaya painters - wasteland (chabs tribute to bedrock mix) i think i would literally slap someone if they got bored in this song and claimed to be a "trance addict" Epic is not the only type of trance, it is often the least original, and to claim to be a trance addict then say you get bored at redundancy in music, Sigh.........

At first even I was a skeptic large part due to I couldnt find a decent rip, but I actually just got it tonite and I think it rox, live this would absolutely tear your ass up.

i agree, traffic is loaded with good hard dance energy just like flight 643, but it's not as good when you're listening to it alone in your bedroom with a pair of headphones.
