Yet he made Get Busy which is one of the crappest tunes of the year. Hmm.

Since when has fuck-er become a racial term?

So please retract your statement about Irish as I do have it in my blood and take offence to your comment.

I trust that he may have said what you are saying he said, to you he may have said fckr, but to me it was another term. Pay close attention to my post. I never accused Ireland or Irish people of being racist, I took offense with that individual from Dublin, who said I hate that either nigge-rs voice or as you say it was fuck-ers voice. Both are seven letters, so go figure. On this thread people have said I can't understand how he talks, he sounds annoying so I don't like him, thats cool but with a tinge of ignorance, why even comment about music that you don't understand. To all Irish people on this board I apologize for any misunderstanding on such a sensitive yet , insignificant subject. I have never met a racist on this forum and EDM does not encourage such people so my apologies. There may have been a misunderstanding in the ******s text as I read it.

Sean Paul has done a great deal for pop music this year as he has taken dancehall reggae to the mainstream, something that has been long overdue. The only people that have a right to say anything negative about Sean Paul are dancehall purists, the rest of you are talking out of your asses about a genre of music you don't understand. I find his music pretty refreshing from within the pop context, he has gotten the best producers of his genre and has managed to evolve it with quite a few fusions, the Neptunes even produced a tune for him. I think he has a great flow but doesn't come closer to Beenie Man or other oldschool people from his genre, but you have to give him credit for the breakthrough of this kind of beat and flow into pop music. It's different, it's better than most things out there in the mainstream music world.

Excuse me dude, which black people are you referring to the one's from Africa, Europe, South America, Canada, US, get my point, funny how you describe blacks as though they are all the same, Generalizations like yours is what creates racial issues, all blacks don't think alike so don't make bland posts about blacks, as though one(being me) speaks for all. I made a comment about a particular post that may have been misinterpreted by me and I have realized that and apologized to the poster in my previous post.

actually its the fact that he speaks with a very strong Jamaican accent, hence you find it annoying. I guess if he is annoying to you he is, after all I find many Belgian French speaker accents to be annoying, its all relative. I speak French so I know about the Walloon accent, even though if you are from Brugge then you also speak Dutch probably. So no I am not just an ignorant American commenting. My point is the guy is a talented reggae artist, a bit commercial, but for reggae music you have to be to have success.

Right... this is the part I don't get. How can someone who doesn't understand a particular genre of music suddenly expect to like a tune? Understandably its gonna be crappy to you. Now if you're a dancehall king I could respect your judgement.

Its as bad as the 3 blind mice telling me what time it is

btw good points YaleTrance

uhhhh yea i generlized.. kinda like you generalized him because he said a 7 letter word, and you thought it was ****** when there wasnt even any mention of race in this topic until you brought it up

dont say i generalize..you think every white person is racist before he even opens his mouth

Posted by Dmatrox on Sep-30-2003 02:29:

i dont like it. I like his collaboration on Baby Boy with Beyonce. However, Like Glue is the 'worst' track ive ever heard.

This is the last post I will make on this subject, throughout this board I have seen the term fuck used and it has not been censored out at all so if he did say ******s then why did it not apper as that and was censored, If I think every white person is a racist by the way why am I a Senior Tranceaddict on an EDM board, I have been around whites all my life, I hate some rap, hip-hop whatever you want to call it, and respect people if they are respectful. Once again you comment on me as a person, while I commented on a post that was made by an individual, I don't know who you are but for what it was worth, I will say this much, if I am generalizing we are both guilty of the same conduct and if my pic wasn't on this board you probably would not have known I was black in all likelihood. I hold no animosities towards anyone and I don't care if someone is black or white, right is right and wrong is wrong. I was wrong because the ******s term is censored and I apologized for that. Take care man and hope you realize my point. Nothing but love for the EDM community. Now that I have said my piece, I will now return to my regular duty of being a happy member of this community. Peace, Trance and Happiness

his voice is annoying.

Posted by djkeenetik on Sep-30-2003 03:29:

Sean Paul sucks ass, all his songs sound the same and his voice is Jamaican but that doesnt redeem the fact that it is monotonous (meaning it sounds all the same)...
So not only his voice sounds the same his songs sounds the same

Posted by djkeenetik on Sep-30-2003 03:30:

the only redeeming thing about Sean Paul is that he is CANADIAN thats the only thing you can give the dude credit for

Hate to go off topic but it appears as if it's too late anyway. That's one of the most ignorant things I've ever read on this board. If I were a mod I'd ban you just for that. If you have nothing nice to say, don't bother posting please.

me puts on some pop corn and waits and sees how this turns out.

by the way the generalzation some of you are making with Sean Paul is the same generalization some of you make with JPop music. predominantly Ayumi since that is what most of you are familiar with. getting back to topic even though it should be in the chill out room, the songs are ok but after hearing it constantly it gets boring quick.

Posted by DJ Freestyle on Sep-30-2003 08:17:

Definately not my cup of pop.

So I'm not allowed to say a tune sucks if it sucks because I don't understand the genre? Pfft...
Most of you people hate country and western and/or metal yet you can express yourself freely, but when it comes to dancehall I can't?

I base my judgement on what I hear and what I hear is poor. There's not much musical value to this track (does it even have a beat?) and the structure is very poor. AND if he's going to sing/rap/whatever throughout the entire tune he should actually have something to say, not just repeat "shake that thing, shake that thing" all the way.

Posted by goose_wh on Sep-30-2003 08:32:

All "Sean Paul" is shite & makes me reach for the bleach when it comes on, same goes for "R. Kelly", "Lumidee", & all other commercial R&B.
As a punishment for making such painfully godawful music, "Sean Paul" should be sellotaped to Noel Edmonds Beard for as long as it takes.

I think i speak on behalf of UKTA in saying.

Its shite.

Posted by zayd on Sep-30-2003 11:13:

whether his a down to earth guy or not imo wouldnt affect his music

so if his a cool guy then thats ok but

personally i just dislike his music, well that style in general i cnt help it but just not my prefered choice !
