Be Cool!

I want to see what the fuzz is about. I am downloading Nick Warren's Global Underground: 008 Brazil tonight. This better be worth my time and better be as good as you guys rant. Making a whole thread about how Nick Warren kicks Tiesto's ass ... better have some good bread to back up that whole thread. Hopefully I will wake up on time to burn a copy of the cd to take it to work, so I can then reply with another post. Lets see if Nick Warren is that good.

This thread makes me wanna go out and learn polish! Um.. I think Nick Warren and Tiesto are different from one another! I apppreciate what Warren does, and I'm personally a big fan of WOW, but Tiesto is better in my opinion! Maybe not lately, but overall, through production and djing, he's better than Warren.

way out west is NOT only progressive trance.
have you heard of their smash hit The Gift???
im sure you have, it was on a billion compilations as well as Trance Nation (1)

they have Mindcircus, The Fall and Intensify is blowing up everywhere right now

check out the GU series, or his essential mixes. (www.tracklistings.org)

It's stupid to compare Warren with Tiesto , they don't have the same style as i know

Posted by patticus on Jul-07-2001 08:56:

its also stupid to compare pvd and tiesto and oakie and armin, they all have different styles

Posted by breakdown on Jul-07-2001 10:48:

nick warren has always been known to be low profile and underrated dj of the world...
as far as technical talent, i would rate nick warren far higher than tiesto.. i've never heard warren make a mistake..
as far as choice of track.. i would also say warren..
to me, tiesto track choices are kinda bland.. and always the same.. whereas warren not..
although they used to differ in musical tastes, i wouldn't say they differ too much now..

Posted by patticus on Jul-07-2001 11:38:

respect infin!
finally someone who knoes what he's talkin about.

i still havent seen a good argument for tiesto in this thread, which is funny because he's a god on this website

I agree

Tiesto does have the big floor fillers, but warren never puts a foot wrong, and put one of his songs in your tracklist and it will always uplift the listeners. A mix between the 2 would b very strange, but maybe a track made from the mix of styles, would b a new future track. Big beats and uplifting.

I really don't think you can catagorize these two dj's into the same realm. Tiesto is the king of his genre...and Nick Warren is up there in the high ranks within deep prog. house and tech trance. I myself love Warren, and Tiesto as well, but from all the sets that I have heard from both of them, I have to say they are kings in the own right.

i'd have to go with viceroy on this one... i honestly don't think you can compare the two... they are both world class producers...

Posted by Sunlounger on Jul-07-2001 20:06:

Nick Warren and Tiesto can not be compared because they play different style of trance music. They both master their style, so u cant say who is better.

Be Cool! Warren vs, Tiesto

Not to be acting all democratic, but I put them in two different categories... Both have a pop flavor, but Tiesto, is... more of a high energy DJ to me. His music is more about having a good time and emotion (what trance really is about) and less about critical skill.

I must say that unlike most every DJ/Musician i've listened to, Nick Warren and WOW have actually gotten better over time. He/they are one of the top of my list (not that I really have a list) always...

I have a feeling WOW is going to blow up very soon, when 'Intensify' [LP] is released on Nettwork in the US...

I have to agree; I've heard a little from both and think they are in 2 different categories...but I like Warren's mixes much better then Tiesto's, even though Tiesto's flight 643 is awesome.

well at least none of you guys are saying tiesto is better

if nick warren gets some respect im still down..

if ur asking for creativity in the music or skill....i dont think u can compare tiesto to anyone in the GU series thats why tiesto would never appear in GU... if digweed will need to imitate tiesto im not sure he will do a less better job ... but if u want tiesto to imitate digweed... well ... it wont happen..

nick warren and tiesto are both awesome djs, but if i had the choice of going to a warren set or a tiesto set it would definately be tiesto. (maybe thats bcos i saw him last nite and he was out of this world!) ive got one of the nick warren GU cds, can't remember which one, but i have listened to it so many times, don't get bored of it.

Finished Listening to Warren's GU Brazil

Okay, done listening to Global Underground Brazil:008. Before I continue, I actually downloaded this, because I thought that Warren would be comparible, or in other peoples words, he would "kick Tiesto's ass". How is that?? After listening to this album, assuming Warren's other albums do not differ in style, Tiesto and Warren have different styles. So how is it to compare the two? But anyway, in my opinion, I like Tiesto and Tiesto's style of trance much more.
Of course I am judging this from only listening from only one of Warren's albums. I think it may not be really fair to Warren, but oh well. Anyhow, I don't think Warren is bad, but I sure don't think he kicks Tiesto's ass or you can even compare him with Tiesto. Tiesto's song selection is better, he mixes smoother, songs compliment each other, and his albums take you through a journey. A real journey, that never gets you out of the mood, like a long nice trip (you know what kind of trip). Shit, I think Magik 5 and In Search Of The Sunrise 2 are his best two albums. I personally don't know why everyone ranted so much about Magik 6,, it took a long time for me to like it.
