looks really interesting ! some anthems in the tracklist, which means its worth the buy.

I'm not really waiting for an whole album of Three Drives.
Signs from the Universe which is on this didn't really impress
me. I doesn't have that Three Drives sound to it, it's just
to g*dd*mn progressive. And like always they have two of their
most succesfull tracks on there, Carerra 2 and Airtraffic. It surprised me that they didn't put Greece 2000 on there.

I hope I'm wrong about all of it and that the album will rock,
but I've got this nasty feeling...

i have no idea why someone would want to mix an artist album! IMO it's very stupid!

An album should be an album, not just a collection of tracks.
Having some sort of a link (a storyline if you will) between the tunes makes the album a lot more listenable, it makes it a journey.

All my favourite albums are mixed... all Junkie XL, BT etc. albums are mixed... meanwhile the albums that aren't mixed sound more like a bunch of tracks thrown on CD rather than an album.

I agree with Grim and Mr.Mystery on this. Mixed CDs provide much more of a journey than just seperate tracks, as long as the mixing is good of course. If you're a CD dj on the other hand, I can see why it is quite annoying...

i don't agree with that one, but hey, that's how it is! opinions differ! can't do anything about it! so this time 3 drives won't get my money! too bad!

Well, that's your loss.

is this going to be another badass cd that may never grace a cd stand in the u.s.? i sure as hell hope not cuz i want this shit

Posted by xtr3m on Dec-07-2003 15:16:

Is it me or the album is a bit, uhm, too weak? Just monotonic...
Oh, and the first CD is mixed.

Posted by infinity0908 on Dec-07-2003 15:22:

IMO this one is a liite bit better than EP 2000.
There are many good tracks including Air Traffic, Sunset on Ibiza and etc.,
EP 2000 had no special tunes except Greece 2000.
I like this new album better

Posted by djjeesh on Dec-13-2003 19:27:

better than 2000.... but the only good tracks on this album were the ones that were released as singles... Not that good imo

Hmm.. just bought this 2CD today and track 3 on CD2, Sunset On Ibiza (Above & Beyond Remix) made me wonder if they have done a new remix or what.. as its not the same version i have on Xtravaganza CD single.

The mix on Xtravaganza has very trademark A&B sounds but the one on 3D album doesn't sound A&B at all, unless its a new mix.. because it sounds a bit like their remix of Madonna - Nobody Knows Me. Hopefully someone can clear this up for me.

Me too, but haven't had the chance to listen to it yet.
Was it Street Beat you got it from by any chance?

Yep. That was the place i got it from.

And it's not a new A&B remix, Jono has confirmed that to me but i still dunno or just can't remember what mix is it then. Length is 8:05 while A&B mix is 8:00.

The so-called "Above & Beyond remix" is indeed a mislabel. It is actually the one-time released Sonorous remix done by Rough Mullar. It was released via Xtravaganza Records back in '01 and apparently did not become widespread in terms of being played amongst big-name DJs. If you'd like more infomation on this release.. I'll post a URL for your trance-seeking endeavors: Sonorous remix By the way, this was released under van Empel's and Ton T.B.'s Three Drives On A Vinyl alias. So don't get it confused! It's ashame Mullar nor Three Drives gave this beauty more air-time when it was out. Oh well. Truly a work of art.

Signing 0ut..
