maybe i'm not reading it correctly, but isn't the article unrelated to the federal decriminalization bill? this one is just talking about using marijuana for medicinal purposes in ontario (which was legal for some people, but not any more).

Once the government realizes how much money they could be making they'll just legalize yet another harmfull subtance just like they did with alcohol. Cigarettes are legal because they make money off of it otherwise it would be illegal and so would alcohol, if they truly cared they'd illegalize things which isn't a bad idea, bargain bin prices since no one gives a fuck about the laws pot will remain a necessity to most lives :P

I notice it is really the stoners just crying foul. Get a grip people, the issue is not over by a longshot. The government can appeal the ruling by the ontario court, they can change the law (which they stated they would do) or the supreme court can take up the issue. It is not over and I expected this to happen anyway and this will take several years to clarify.

You know, no matter what it is, decrminalized, illegal, cops are still gonna be assholes about it. I have a bunch of friends who have already fined for just smelling like it. It';s bullshit, but its the way our society works. whatever. i'll never stop doing it..

FUCK YOU (government) I WON'T DO WHAT YA TELL ME!!!
