yeah there are always people saying stupid shit, including everything in this thread and especially my initial posts. but that's beyond the point. anyways, i lost hope a long time ago. i don't know what's going on

I think some of us are really trying to understand. For me it might just be too difficult unless you can simplify because English isn't my first language and I have trouble getting "deep."

I don't think people really realize that their own countries idiosyncrasies are unique to them, they may realize them but they certainly don't stop to think someone might not know what they're talking about on a forum. Hell I do this sometimes when I'm talking to people even just from out of state. No big deal. I don't think any of us get around the world that much to change anyways...

no, is not really about the language. it's more about the social interaction between members and their use of regional-biased arguments as if it were applicable to everyone when it's actually very limiting and narrow-minded. what i don't like is seeing people say stuff like: "trance is dead, no one in alabama listens to that shit anymore. people from alabama say that happy hardcore is in, so that's just the way it is" and try to apply that as the absolute truth in a global level when they actually don't have a clue about the GLOBAL scene or what's going on anywhere else in the world. people do that a LOT here, i'm not blaming anyone in specific, it's more of an subconscious thing too. anyhow, i realized that this discussion belongs in a sociology class, not in a chillout forum

oh i know. i love that island with all my heart and i've had the pleasure to experience their clubs and festivals, which are the world's best imo. and yes, people from every country can be shallow like that. i wasn't trying to generalize at all.
