Fifa 2004, is a huge, massive improvment over any other Fifas, and it surely gonna kick WE and PES ass.
Fifa 2004 gives you the control you want, everything you wanna control you can, everything is alot more free, corners, freekicks and what not, I love this game and I cant wait for the final product.
Bottom line is gameplay in Fifa 2004 tops PES and WE in every single way, yes PES and WE had it over Fifa last years, but now Fifa 2004 is the new dominator.

But stop saying pro evolution is shit when it isnt. The gameplay in 2 is VERY close to being more or less perfect, it has the best free kick and corner system, best ai easily, u cant just dribble the length of the pitch with the keeper (or anyone else) and score like fifa, theres no spots in the penalty area where u can just score a goal every time from, theres pretty good collision detection, the ball physics r amazing, its far (realisticly) harder to play than fifa etc
So even if fifa 2004 is the absolute paragon of football games and is perfectly 100% realistic, it still cant be that much better than pro evolution 2. I mean, everything uv said about fifa 04, good free kick system, good ai etc, pro evolution 2 already has all that. So what makes it better? apart from the real names etc which doesnt matter anyway if u truely love football.

Im sorry man, but you dont know what you are talking, Fifa 2004 is NOTHING like previous Fifa's, it has been completley rewritten.
It has by far the best AI, corner, freekick, penalty & passing system ever, PES doesnt even come close, and Im not even gonna argue anymore, this is pointless, you dont like Fifa 2004 , I love it, so its all good.

Answer my question. In order for fifas passing/corner/ai/whatever systems to be (much, as u say) better than pro evolutions, there must be something wrong with pro evolutions. So whats wrong with it? And how does fifa put it right? Thats what im asking.

Always wanted a Fifa vs Pes discussion - not that there really is an argument.

Pro Evolution Soccer (which is also known as Winning Eleven in Japan) is hands down the best soccer series out there. There is no comparison - it is miles ahead of the competition. It beats Fifa in every department and about the only thing EA had going for it was the authentic names. All cash, but no flash if you ask me.

Its simple really. If you play soccer/football regularly on organised semi professional teams then you will like PES better. If you are a casual supporter/couch potato with little ball skills , the wham-bam action of Fifa will appeal to you. And someone here just mentioned how they won on pro mode in their first game 5-4. That just proves my point. Winning your first game on hard mode in PES is unheard of - let alone with that scoreline.

The only reason why Fifa 2004 may be good (I have yet to try it but I heard how Fifa 2003 "owned" when it first came out) is because EA is trying to make it more like Konami's games. Face it. Everything that EA claimed was "evolutionary" in Fifa 2003 was already done by Konami ages ago. And you can't really credit EA for any piece of ingenuity. After Fifa 97, 98, WC 98, 99, 2000, Euro 2000, 2001, 2002, WC 2002, 2003 (10 games!!!) they are finally STEPPING in the right direction.

And this is coming from a previous die hard Fifa fan who got disgruntled at EA after Fifa 99. Fifa 96 was a classic - everything after that went downhill. EA sports can keep it "in the game" but when PES comes out on the PC this Novemeber I know where my money is going.

Like I said before, PES was alot better then the previous Fifa's, but Fifa 2004 is by far alot better then PES, PES looks like a silly budget games vs Fifa 2004, Fifa 2004 is alot more realistic, got alot more moves then PES will ever have, it has better AI, alot better gameplay and not to mention realistic graphics, unlike PES.
Fifa 2004 is by far the best soccer game to ever come out, PES got nothing on it.

Pes actually has better graphics, at least where it matters. The grass in pro evolution 2 and 3 is FAR superior to even fifa 2004. And in pro evolution the players dont look like cartoon characters (far too colourful etc), as they do in fifa. The lighting in fifa is awful. The players r lit much differently than the grass, it doesnt look like the players and the (low res) grass r in the same place.

Not necessarily. I play football daily, but i know a lot of people who dont, who just have an understanding of the game, can see how much better the pro evolution series is.

Yeah, its very hard to break down defences especially in pro evolution 3, even on 3 star difficulty. U HAVE to pass a lot and get ur tactics right, it really needs a full team effort to win.

Yep. Remember iss 98? Thats when konami really started getting things together. Since that game game out, konami have been on top. In fact, not a single fifa game is better than iss 98 yet.

Its already out mate, i bought it today, well yesterday (friday). Thats when it came out.
I love it. Its harder than pes 2, getting through the back line is very, very difficult usually.
The ai has improved, for example defenders positioning themselves better, and players closing u down quicker and people sticking out legs to intercept passes more etc. Also, when playing teams like real madrid, brazil, valencia etc u will see some excellent 1 touch stuff coming from them more often which can be very hard to defend against.
The animations have improved and look very 'natural' and realistic most of the time. Unfortunately imo the grass in about half the stadiums doesnt look quite as realistic as in pes2, where it looked more or less real. Also most of the players look a bit too well built, but this is minor stuff really.
The training is even better than pro evolution 2. I havnt played all the training exercises yet but so far the free kick training in particular is amazing, and u can make ur own dribbling courses.
I think the game has slowed down about 5-10%, and its just about right now, altho it took me about half an hour to get used to.
Long shots r now hit harder and more direct than pes2, theres more tricks u can do when dribbling, to do a manual pass u hold the right analogue stick in the direction and then hold r3 for power, u now can hold r1 or r2 to add to the effect of holding up or down in free kicks, most of the top italian teams (not inter) have given permission to use their real names and kits etc
Too many new things to mention but this is definitely a 10/10 game and is a true simulation of football. I honestly cant see fifa 2004 or even 2010 coming close. U should buy it as soon as possible.

Gameplay wise, Fifa 2004 kills PES 3, both games are not in the same league, PES 3 is a cartoon soccer game that reminds me Fifa 94, while Fifa 2004 is the best stimulation soccer experience ever.

Bollocks. U started the insulting when u called me clueless. I was trying to discuss it properly, i asked u to point out specific things that were bad about pes, but u couldnt, except the names.
As always, pro evolution = gran turismo, fifa = mario kart.

PES = $10.50 budget cartoon
Fifa = leading soccer game in the gaming industry

shits all over any little kids fifa game!
fifas are always the usual decent graphics jobs, and the players looking exactly how they are, but the actualy gameplay is dire, so many holes in the game, once you've figured out how to score once, you can do it all the time, you can score the same type of goal every time, and it gets a bit boring beating everyone 6-0 on world class.
Pro evo is quite different, the graphics are a good standard, and the sheer deptch of gameplay make it what it is, pro evo 1,2,3 are the only games I now own on my playstation, because they are all I ever need. Been playing my master league on pro evo 2 for nearly a year, and not once has it bored me, as there is always a new challenge, it's extremely difficult to give a team a 6-0 beating on 5 stars, and it's far more fulfilling when you do it, as there is no easy way to score, there are some goals which you score more often than others, but the computer adapts to your style.
plus PES is the footbllers game, saw a program a few weeks back with robert pires and thierry henry playing it

as for those screenshots as well, whats wrong with the players being like that, you never notice it when englufed in a game.
and for the record theres 2 guys in the fifa screenshot with identical poses, just facing different ways

Az in Fifa 2004 you wont beat the CPU 6-0 at pro or world class, you'll get destroyed 6-0 most likley.
But whatever, Fifa 2004 is the BEST soccer stimulation game out there right now, PES 3 is the ok cartoon like arcade soccer game, for the little kids who dont understand nothing in that sport.
EA did an amazing job, all the past Fifas were junk, this one is THE ONE, PES 3 doesnt even come close, when today I played the PES 3 demo again, I laugh so hard at how pathetic it is next to Fifa 2004 its crazy, but whatever, all the real soccer fans know that Fifa 2004 is THE ONLY soccer game out there.
