Ok guys you got ME ALL WRONG 
...Mark I really apologize for making you upset i never really intended to do it...As you might recall i said you played a good set and quite honestly over the long run I ejoy them much more than almost all other DJs. Second of all about the songs being played twise...I never said it was BAD i just said it was strange but i also said that i loved the songs so i had no problem with it. Ok to the next correction...What i wrote might have sounded wrong and you are right Armin never played solo, what i meant to say is when he was the ONLY GUEST DJ...and Mark of course opening the night. So in that regard i'll take the blame. 
But like i said overall it was a really great night and i really enjoyed myself and i'm comming back again today! And like i said my opinions MIGHT HAVE sounded negative but they weren't at all...Guvernment is the best nightclub I'd rather go there than anywhere else (which i do quite regularly) and Mark Oliver is the best DJ in Canada and obviously I have no doubts about that! Hmmmmm amd Mark you dont need to apologize for blowing your own horn after all you ARE right about what you said...You made guv what it is and it is the best and most definitely the best sat night party for 7 years and that was quite obvious last night. I love Armin van Buuren and I love Mark...I have no beef to either one and uummm i never inteded to piss anyone off since other people on this site seem to say things that are much worse...In any case i apoligize if i made anyone that upset, I apoligize to Mark (who was one of my top 5 DJs that i voted for on the DJ MAG's top 100 list by the way ) and whoever else got offended and took my comments a little too personal...Hope this will patch some things up here...

Oh yeah...one more thing...this is the FIRST TIME EVER i have posted a review which might hav been somewhat negative and I've been completely grilled cause of it...yickes

Awesome night. That pretty much sums it up for most of us I think. Mark - great set as always, I actually thought Armin was spinning when I first got in by some of the tracks I was hearing. But you always do a great job of warming up for whoever's playing that night. Good to see you on here. I figured Armin would probably come on later since Mark is spinning with PVD tonight (looking forward to this) as well and knowing how Armin loves to go till they pull the plug it worked out well.
What more is there to say about one of our fav DJs coming in and throwing down a wicked set. So many good tracks in there - mixing up the old and new but keeping a nice theme throughout his set. There were a couple of odd tribal sounding tracks in there but regardless, the massive was enjoying it all. I would have to say that it was pretty packed - at least until around 4ish when it started to claar up a bit.
Great meeting some of you at the pre-meetup at the Yard. Oh and Mark that was a great touch with the spotlight into the crowd. I've seen Evil P do it at System before but Mark's light was much brighter and looked cool coming down from the booth.
wow, what a night!!! mark played an awesome set & armin completed the night by making me cream my pants.
overall, i think it was a pretty good crowd, with the exception of a few people. one of mt highlights of the night was some asian chick coming up to me & yelling "GAAGAAGAAGAAGAAAAAA".
very nice tune selection by both mark and armin, although i'm a little upset i didn't get to hear scott bond vs solarstone - naked angel. unless it was played after i left, in which case i will kill someone.
one thing i must say though, i saw only 1 tota, but i didn't introduce myself b/c i was having trouble walking. so i'm going to say hi now, hi nat! the only reason i'm posative i saw her is b/c i've seen her pis in various pic threads and she was waving around that thing that says "tranceaddict" in lights.
if anyone saw a kinda chunky guy wearing a black energie shirt that says "italia" on it, that was me. and yeah, by the end of the night i looked like i was gonna pass out.
Ok, maybe some of you were at some other venue, or I was just in a bad spot, but last night was amongst the worst crowd control I've seen in the main room since the LoL last year. I was REALLY hating the lack of dancing space. I ended up needing a breather on the patio to get out of the main room chaos.
PS. Good work Mark in spinning Murder was the Bass last night! That definitely got me going!

I'm still alive and ready to party again.
Last night was one of the best parties ever. Arrived with my buddy and his friend , the main room was already going crazy to the sounds Mark - You 0wn, night after night you deliver (Tordan, Loca and I saw you at viva a couple of weeks ago, smacked us all to the floor, back up again and then harder against the walls. btw what were the last 3 vocal trks you dropped that night? ) .
Then, Armin comes on .. the place goes crazy. Everytime i see him, he fills the whole club with energy. The track selection & mixing was superb. Even Rj couldnt resist and had to come 
. Towards the end of the night, you could see the look on people's faces - I've never seen anything like it, they were truely in "A State Of Trance" - 2nd last trk 7 cities avb remix , then Communication , and then Burned with desire as encore? 
I was about to have a heart-attack - (dj_iceman can prolly vouch for that 
). That is why Armin is my fav dj. Armin seemed to like the sign , hehe at the end, Armin signaled me to come up but security didn't let anyone go up so that sucked. PVD will have a hard time toping this for me 
Shout-outs to all the TA's, great partying with all of you once again, and see you tonight.
Yes, t'was WAY too crowded for a while. Somehow never ran into Alec again in there, saw Luca once in passing.
I've only slept 10 minutes today (after only having had 3 hrs sleep the day b4). Even passed up my 1st chance at a Canadian thanksgiving dinner (since I moved here 4 yrs ago) at Dallas's parents place thinking I would get some sleep. I really dunno how I'm gonna survive the night....This is a time for those prescription speed pills I have.
^^^^ well, good luck tatgirl. i've only slept about 2 hours today after armin, and i'm so wiped i'm not going to pvd.....i know i'll just crash and burn.....
There'll be other 7 year anniversaries.....right??

The beginning of the night started off pretty good until there was a definite change in DJs (and I'm talking before Armin) or at least in style.
Aaron (Form&Function) and I were convinced that Mark O. must have been went back into his archives from 7 years ago and was spinning from that bin only....
Everything sounded dated(?) for about an hour or more.
Nothing wrong with that but we did find it interesting...
Then there was the frat boy up there in the DJ mic, "YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" 
Then some unusual MCing for a song and a half?? I've never heard anyone MC on an Armin night so that was different.
Then came on Pat Benetar and the ripped-jeans-80s-look-dancers. They were pretty good actually...
Thank God for the back patio as it got pretty stuffy in the main room but the speakers they got back there are horrible.
Very piercing and VERY hard on the ears...
I was wearing -33Db ear plugs and thought I'd be safe to take them out while I was out there, but during the tech set (the dated stuff mentioned above) it was so loud that my ears are STILL ringing...
Armin was great as normal and played some awesome tOOns are usual.
It was mentioned above that he did a couple of complete song overlaps that sounded great together; something I've never heard him do so that was very cool indeed!
All in all a good night...now to complete digesting this damn turkey....
the music was wonderful and everything, but damn it was soo crowded. I don't think I'll be going to any parties at the guv again.
funny moment of the night;
a fight broke out while we were moving around. we were walkig through and suddenly I see ~10 guys jumping each other. for a sec. I though someone had a bad trip. good thing it ended quick
it looks liek armin took a liking to gabriel & dresden's style when he had em on the show, their way of puttign acappella's over tracks must've had quite an influence on him because he did it 3 times that i can remember

best moment of the night: when my buddy tried to explain to the bouncer that the only reason we made a pipe out of the water bottle was because the joint would'nt burn properly
what really impressed me about armins toronto gig was that armin has been playing a standard set throughout his 76 tour. not the case in toronto.. he more or less completely revamped his tracklist for the nite .. i just hope that the next time.. the guvernment puts the man back in the kool haus were he belongs.. the guv isnt big enough for a dj of that calibre

It WAS a bit different from usual in terms of the set times. Normally, I'll play an opening (somewhat mellower) set before the guest and then close out the night. You're right in the sense that I didn't play a typical opening set. The 7 year anniversary was a tough one because many regulars have become accustomed to hearing tons of classics at the anniversary parties, so it was a challenge for me to keep everyone happy without sounding (to the newcomers) like I'm playing purely oldies. The past 6 anniversary nights have not included any guest DJs, so they were much easier for me to program.
Armin and I have become friends over the past couple of years and I have the utmost respect for him. He's a class act all the way and it was a great treat for us all to see and hear him on top form (when is he NOT?)

As a visitor from across the border, that was my first time at the club. Dang, the place was mad packed! Other than that, the place is fantastic.
Too bad that I had to leave at 2:30 am, before Armin's set. I had to be somewhere early in the morning (with my mind and body somewhat functional ), followed by helping with the 9-hour drive back home.
The next time I'm at the Guv, if I can help it, I'll be sure to close the place out, as I usually do here at home.
I had a great time meeting many of you. Many thanks to tatgirl for all the introductions!

also, don't wanna go too far off the topic, but I'm wondering: did anyone catch any of the bike racing in Hamilton?
It was sick. The whole night. For anyone in the proclaimed party corner we had going.. you all rocked. Left after Armin, went to the comfort zone til noon. I always have a great time when I go up to Canada, and always meet some really cool people. 
Now to start planning and looking forward to the next trip up.

Oliver always graces the decks with amazing epic tunes...the last time I saw him, the whole floor was bouncing to Lustral - Everytime.
Overall, both DJs bombed the decks with their excellent selection of Essential floor-fillers.
