umm?

this thread is about Clarke's album - Devil's Advocate.

But you are talking about how shit (attidude) he is/has...
And you have not even heard the album... C'mon

Posted by Zayatz on Oct-20-2003 13:21:

And how can U compare Hawtin & Clarke?

And Picotto has no skills

Posted by GT40 on Oct-20-2003 13:24:

The Picotto/Clarke debate started in 2000 when everyone was saying the Picotto's 2000 Essential mix was better thean any Clarke set. ANd Picotto wasnt really that massive then

Posted by chesco on Oct-20-2003 16:34:

I don't like dave clarke. no tune he makes or set he mixes will ever make me feel any different. i just don't like his attitude towards certain djs.

besides i made my point clear about tha album earlier on in the thread. i think its shite, just like i think every other production he does.

zayatz mate you laff at picottos skills, why is it then you are posting comments about him and not actually doing it yourself hmmm. its fair to say hes not agood as the likes of clarke and beyer but you can't laff at him mate cos hes out there making his millions while you are sitting on tranceaddict pretending you know more about dj'ing than him when you clearly don't

Picotto is just as good as Clarke production wise, Clarke fans feel superior cause he produces shitty hip hop tracks which are clap.

Is it true that Dave Clarke played Hong Kong and Awesome and then denied playing them.

probably.

He had some words to say about picotto but i don't know what they were.

wait till he finds out who co-produced massimo comminoto - eroi de carta. whci features in his tracklists of the moment. he'll be even less happy than he normally is. (if thats possible)

no. I wasnt laughing at Picotto's skills, I was laughing @Biohazard statement.....

Picotto is a good dj, in my opinion.

I can understand if u compare djs with same style, but Clarke & Hawtin are pretty different.....

as long as you weren't laughing at my hero! lol

i compare hawtin and clarke in terms of what they can do with the records they are playing.

i know they play different styles, but hawtin uses samplers, final scratch, effects (some that hes actually invented hiself). his sets are somtimes like a live set he can change tunes that much to suit. imo dave clarke just couldn't do the majority of that. not denying calrke is a brilliant dj i just don't rate him on par with hawtin. my opinion tho.

Posted by muravei on Oct-21-2003 14:41:

Well, Dave Clarke also uses samplers, effects...3-deck spinning. And to use final scratch, that's not something that makes a dj any better. It's just going along with the development of technology.

...imo dave clarke just couldn't do the majority of that.

He just has a totally different style...

BioHazard's statemant abou Picotto's skills....

Dave Clarke gors overboard with the efx these days which totally spoil his set. Even the purists would agree.

Thumbs down

I don't really get all the hype around this album, I heard it once I heard it twice just to try to get it grown on me still no result..."The music will challenge peoples preconceptions about me. If youre unaware of my first album or my remixes then you might think that my whole life revolves around techno. It doesnt." wait, a hip hop track?? No thanks Dave and the album itself with a fancy cover in a very limited edition vacuum formed plastic casing with black CDs (the first audio album to use these) what's that all about? I saw this CD @ Virgin record store for 40 CND bucks! Fuck that!!
