without bashing any other religion, when i was 14, I sorta tried most other religions and it did not make me content, so I went back to christianity. I trust it completely and utterly that it is correct. I think it is a good thing to question what you believe in because I think it leads to greater understanding and you ask the questions that need to be asked.

I'm sorry, but you don't just "sorta try" other religions for a few months, especially when you're 14. You need to immerse yourself in something before you even have an inkling of understanding.

I'm not knocking Christianity, or your beliefs at all, but to say you "tried" other religions just doesn't make sense.

no, never wondered that. i'm not religious nor think there is such a thing as reincarnation.

Thinking about it right now... if I were to turn into a stone, dust, or nothingness, is the same, no consciousness whatsoever, so who cares.

Religion (as western concept) is about aknowledgement of a deity or ultimate entity, devotion to it, and beliefs. As the world you perceive is biased by your past, your enviroment, your hopes, and your beliefs. I'd then say that yes, religion is also a way to appreciate life, or at least influences it (depends on the strenght of your faith on the particular religion you believe).

About setting rules and respect each other... that depends on which religion.

When I said it was as western concept (which is mostly judaism/christianism) is because you must also consider polytheism and godless religion/atheistic religious tradition (Upanishadism -a subset of Hinduism-, Hinaya Buddhism, Jainism, Taoism, and Confucianism being the main exponents).

As of me, i'd stick with Humanism (contemporaneous humanism, tho Historial humanism is fine by me).

I think you should either state your religion, and discuss these issues with the ones who believe it, or rephrase everything to the core of your interest, trying to maintain it one religion-independant as possible.

well it cant really hurt if u follow a religion that teaches good morals...thats basically the majority of them. And if your wrong and there is no superior being...wats the worst that could happen when u die...if the christians are right...u go to hell...if reincarnation is the right belief...then ur gonna be something else in a another life...if u wanna know the worst that could happen...research all the religions and get your opinion on the worst thing that could happen to u according to those religions...if religion is just hokey pokey beliefs to teach good morals...then there is no after life.

i don't feel if that one should worry about the right or wrong of their religious beliefs.. just if they are truly growing and/or advancing their spirit.
matter can neither be created nor destroyed; nor can energy. if the soul is a form of energy.. it must follow the same basic law.

if everyone thinks god is one then why are there different religions if ur going to believe in the same god? to me it makes no sense, honestly. i just do wutever i feel like, even if its against my "so called" religion. also i dont see any solid proof god exists, people just come up with stupid ideas.
