Why must we classify the Mets & Yankees as enemies??? Crosstown Rivals maybe, but enemies, not in my mind. After everything that happened on 9-11-01, any true New Yorker would be happy and proud to See either New York team bring some pride back to the greatest city in the world!!!!!!!!!!

my hatred of the yankees, FAR outweighs my hatred of the braves. but see, as met fans we can and *do* admit when a team is better than us. because we are humble. yankee fans make excuses when they lose. last year everyone said 'the angels were just a fluke,' but so what? the almighty yankees still should've beaten them. i just hate that the yankees can do no wrong in 85% of yanks fans eyes. but when they *DO* do something wrong, all the fans seem to just ignore it. only baseball fans who are yankee fans will talk about it. blah blah blah. i hope dontrelle (him and cabrera are the only two guys i like on the marlins) throws a perfect game. and hits roger clemens. and i know if you hit a batter, it is not a perfect game, but it would be perfect in my eyes.

you are not a *baseball* fan if you think that cubs v yanks wouldve been better than cubs v. redsox. ask anyone... that series would've been the highest rated WS in the past 15 years. just picture cubs pitching vs. bostons hitting. wouldve been great. sammy v. manny. and in case you havent noticed, after the 96' WS, the rating for all following WS dropped dramatically. sox v cubs would've saved baseball. instead we get this shit.

Its my personal biased to see the Yankees in the WS because I am a huge Yankee fan. But entertainment wise I would definitely rather see the Sox vs. Cubs because of the drought of titles these 2 ball clubs have suffered. No matter who would have won that game it would have been the biggest win in sports history.

Ugh, Marlins won Game 1... its ok though - the Yankees have never faced them before - they need to test the water and see whats swimming. Yanks will win Game 2 now that they have played and pitched against them. Game 3 and 4 will be in the air, since Petitte is pitching Game 2.

I say this series is either going to 6 or 7 games. The teams have very constrasting styles and will be going back and forth. I will go with Yanks in 6, when they get back home they will dominate.

yeh i kinda feel the same way, IMO once a team becomes a dynasty then whats the point of caring about the series (unless you're a die-hard fan of course...)

I feel the same way about the Grammy Awards and MTV Video Music Awards. Every year the winners are always commercial pop music songs that are WAY overplayed on the radio etc..

besides I lose interest in baseball once the football season rolls around. NCAA college football is more exciting IMO

First off your specualtion that the red sox would've been better rivals than the yanks is just that SPECULATION, and unless your a baseball demigod your opinion is worth just as much as mine. The Sox, pedro and manny got what was coming to them. I don't think this series will be good but then again red sox marlins wouldn't have been any diff..
