Why is it that we download MP3 files and not CDDA files? Would a CDDA file be too big to dowload like a Wav file? Also, isn't one song in Wav format something like 300 mb; how is it then that you can fit an entire album on a 700 mb CD? thanks for bearing with me, I'm trying to figure this all out.

when u burn an AUDIO cd, it goes by length in time, i.e. a 74 minute CD will fit say 10 .wav files or 10 mp3s. a DATA cd however, will hold 700 mB of data, either 10 .wav files @ 70 mB each, or 10 .mp3 files @ 70 mB each. the difference is that a .wav file contains much more information in that 70mB (roughly 7 minutes of audio) and the .mp3 file is compressed (roughly 70 minutes of audio). hope that kind of made sense.

as far as i kno, nobody transfers file in the CDDA format...at most in a .wav or .aiff format.

and to answer your earlier question of burning .wav files as an audio cd compared to store bought cds, you can't replicate it perfectly. store bought cds are pressed at a manufacturing plant where they make masters of the file and are used to "stamp" the cds. this has to be done to ensure maximum data transfer from the audio master to the cd that you get in the store. burning cds at home is only done through a laser in your burner that burns the data but is prone to a LOT more errors.

any chance of a small sample of an un-enhanced vs. enhanced mp3 file?

hey VIO was checking your websites in your sig and noticed you were from St. Louis
thats where i'm originally from. but now i'm living and going to school in LA.

If I understand everything correctly we would not be able to hear the difference between an enhanced and an un-enhanced MP3 sample. The difference could only be heard on loud systems

CDDA and .wav files are both approx. 10mb per minute where as mp3s at 128bit are approx. 1mb per minute.

no, but i can get you a copy of the plug in. you see you can't apply the plug in to an mp3 file. you need to load the mp3 file in an editor like wavelab or soundforge. you need to convert it to a wav file. then when you eq it run it trough the plug in, etc. you need to save it as a wav file. if you turn around and save it as an mp3 you're going to re-compress it and null the enhancements you just made.

i've headlined at velvet and deep six and i've played the oz as well. i've played a few parties/raves in st. louis but not too many. i mainly stick to the clubs. la la land entertainment hosts a night a velvet every week. i actaully live in central illinois not too far from st. louis. my agent/la la land ent. is in st. louis and that's where my family is from. i play all over the place though. i have yet to play in chicago but my agent is working on that. did you ever go to the red or blue raves or any of the boogie knights parties?
