I love vocals, Armin and vocals is definitely not bad at all! Perhaps there are producers who can do it better than he.

cool
Burned With Desire (best tune for me this year)
Too Late To Turn

not cool
The Sound Of Goodbye (vocals are ok, tune is cheap)
Stay
Yet Another Day
As The Rush Comes (nice remix, but original is just better than every remix)

Unfortunately I don't have other tunes you're talkin about Janeiro, Time is the Healer and Dust.wav. I'd love to have the 192kbps version!

this thread is just one of the same aplz threads where he tries to stir the shit up. so just ignore it!

i personally love some armin vocals and dislike some! didn't like dust.wav or too late to turn or sunburn vocals at all, but most of the before mentioned i love!

The Sound Of Goodbye and Sky Falls Down sound immense when played live!

disagree!

i prefer ATRC (AVB remix) over the original. an you have to get janeiro.. it's legendary

Posted by magik8 on Oct-26-2003 15:38:

I find stay not a good combination. It's just a sort of remix from the original song of krezip.
but numbers as burned with desire (especially the rising star mix)
and yet another day are good.
so sometimes it's a bad combination and sometimes it's really good.
but it all depends of your personal taste.

i like sound of goodbye

Posted by trancEyes22 on Oct-26-2003 17:03:

i'm surprised someone would say this, because i would think armin is the most talented when it comes to producing + adding vocals. ATRC, sky falls down, seven cities (vocal edit), sound of goodbye, dust wave, janeiro, yet another day...are all amazing (and well liked) tracks.

of course everyone is titled to their own opinion but this argument doesnt have much validity.

Posted by Shepless on Oct-26-2003 17:15:

You obviously havent heard his remix of 'As The Rush Comes'

Shep

Posted by ambs on Oct-26-2003 17:25:

this argument is purely a matter of personal opinion... and in mine: armin's vocal tracks are AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3

Posted by Sirocco on Oct-26-2003 18:03:

his vocal remix of seven cities, with the vocals....i loved them for some reason. they added to the tune.

Posted by Misfire on Oct-26-2003 18:09:

i thought his remix of ATRC was okay , not better than original though.

Posted by Sgus on Oct-26-2003 18:15:

Sneaker Pimp

no i don't think so...armin has done very good vocal tunes although i prefer dub versions i think they have more energy vocal tunes are make you relax...or something...i prefer jumb all over my place spin my head and at the end crush it at the wall feeling a bit deezy :P

Posted by DJ Bazz on Oct-26-2003 21:02:

how about this?

IIO - Rapture (Armin Van Buuren Remix)

this remix is one of the best he has ever made I think

It took waaaaaaaay to long for someone to mention this song. For my two cents, i would agree though....yet another is awful, and some of his other vocal tunes are completely unlistenable in my opinion. which basically leads me to the conclusion that armin is like everyone else....some vocal tracks/remixes are good, some suck.

Although i love armin, i just have to disagree with that statement, 7 cities should have been left alone.. vocals cheesed it up.

as someone before mentioned hearing the vs acapella tracks live was awesome ... you don't get the same feeling while listening to livesets on your pc... Forever Waiting vs Summer Calling Acapella mmmmmmm

K which did armin make first, his remix of rapture of of jainero?
Cause which ever came first the second one sucks due to recycling jolz they are the exact same song for the first 2 minutes or so,

Rapture was a great mix, and i agree one of armins greats
I didnt like his mix of jainero at all, i love the original and feel armins totally a weight on its ankles.

Yet another day i like, DJ shaw mix good!
Sound of goodbye total ass, build and give up yay what a song! it is like it is half finished totally t3h sux, pretty much future funland is only song i have any room for in my heart from perpetuous dreamer so far,
Sky falls down, solid track vocals dont hurt it at all.
As the rush comes, eh i like original more.
Time is the healer, HOLY FUCK now that is a song right there, vocals double the track so with this and rapture i would have to say that this thread is officially disproven haha, Armin + Vocals can = greatness, it really is a 50/50 <--not to scale :P kinda ratio, i think sometimes he remixes to much and recycles a bit, specially in the case of jainero and rapture... But amidst it all there is plenty of quality many of which there are vocals in.

That's because we were speaking of original productions, not remixes. I believe that was the intent of this thread. Because it would be blatantly retarded for someone to call all of Armin's remixes with vocals bad.

Posted by djdl on Oct-27-2003 07:16:

wow, took it way back with rapture.

ok, i do have to say armin doesnt bring a new sound to the table. he is trance, but great trance at that. but what seperates armin is the format of his tracks. all his intros are good, the build up is always good, and of course the peak is roof shattering. he makes tracks that are great to dance to, and his melodies are just soooooo nice. u might not think his tracks are great when u first hear them, btu the more u listen, the more u like cuz u find more stuff abotu the song that u realize; and those are the songs that u will play and like after a year from first hearing it. he is just solid overall.

ill argue with his remix of "Appears" by Ayumi Hamasaki... that song is totally a sleeper w/out the vocals...

Ooh, is that the Guvernment in your picture?

I didn't like the dust.wav vocals but Sound of Goodbye's vocals were awesome, Burned With Desire is very good too... Song For The Ocean could do without the vocals, I mean the song is amazing as is, the vocals don't really add anything to it...

Posted by Hequn on Oct-27-2003 17:14:

i think all armins vocal tracks are good

Posted by HSChronic on Oct-27-2003 18:06:

I agree I think that most armin vocal tracks are great. I don't like his mix of ATRC as much as I like Markus Schulz Cold Harbour Remix, of it. Though they are both good tracks.

I also agree his tracks are hit or miss, though i personally have not found one i dislike, Im sure he will come out with one someday I will not agree with. So Im not going to say hes a god when it comes to vocal tracks, but I do tend to like most of them.

yes it is. i drove up to michigan to visit a friend of mine, then we drove to toronto to go to the guv. the venue is incredible. and i think the video for wyclef & the rock - it doesnt matter was set in the guvernment as well.

Posted by Shad0wmaster on Oct-28-2003 01:18:

Most Armin tracks with vocals have been pretty impressive imo. But I agree that Sunburn's vocals just plain suck.
