| Originally posted by shadowfax I know the ETS guy has every right to say what he wants, and what he said was priceless. But for those of us who are recording this, it's bad enough with the MC talking all the time. I hope he understands that we're recording. And I vote to ban MC's from the stage! |
i suppose recording off TV or radio is illegal too? mmmmnope
who thought MC's were a good idea with trance? every MC that i've heard on a trance set added nothing to the music, it's more like it detracted from it, ok so maybe it might be different if ur there live but i'd much rather hear the music than someone yelling over it and telling us wat to do
mc = mouthy ****

MC's is the worst fucking thing that can happen to you at a party!
Ass****** DJ Jean is a pretty good example who does not only play some SHITASS sets, but he also RAPS to his stupid-house! Can you imagine that! RAPpING to Hard-House!"%(!"#%(!
DJ Jean also managed to ruin Ferry Corsten and Scott Bonds sets while they were playing after him at a party here once.
DJ Jean and MC's are better left out. Drop dead Jean!
not all MC's need to be shot, you guys need to checkout LTJ Bukem & MC Conrad - Progression Session vol 4. smoooooooooth as silk. Conrad more of a vocalist then a MC
thats dnb tho.
but yeah, true - MC's for trance n other stuff is fuckin terrible, i really like pete tong's work on the essential mix tho, quick chat for a min or so right at the start with some info about the artist is always cool.
i'll bet Ferry was just a pissed as we wore!! maaan
well im lucky coz here in greece at partys we dont have(yet) mcs bitching around and destroying a set...but we have somethin else..i remember when i saw oakey there was a stupid man playing a tribal shit(dont know the word for the instrument) and he was ruining oakeys breakdowns...and i remember after some hour oakey looked at him in a very serious and nervous way and the guy just stopped and we didnt heard him from that point...it was very funny...

Something like that |

The ASOT MC isn't too bad. I think he makes an effort not to talk when the good parts come. But in general they should not be there even in a radio set.

pls dont remember me of that a**hole.......
This particular MC must be the most hated MC on TA ever!
The guy sounded very much like the MC who MCs @ the Matrix nightclub? I'll never forget he's trademark:
"If you can't handle it, then get the F***K out!"
bahahaha
I do agree that in terms of uplifting/driving trance, MC's shouldnt be involved - but for stuff like Drum N Bass, or even funky prog-house, it gives the set more atmosphere [of course, provided the MC's tone and flow goes with the music].
Agreed also to Pete Tong being a good MC.
