Yes i believe i would know what the difference between Original and repress...who cares about value seriously? I don't care how much my vinyl is going to be in 10 years time, i just want to have the satisfaction of being able to understand the fact that i have a 1 in a 100 or something copy...

I guess everyone has a differnt purpose in obtaining rare items...i dunno

DOWN with represses IMO..

I mean come on, search for the songs, spend heaps of money getting that song...don't make it available to everyone...i know this might sound silly BUT do you know that Armin Universal Religion Vinyl how they said it was limited to 1000 copies, now the owners of those vinyls must have a feeling of satisfaction that they acquired something hard to come by, now if they repress 2000 more how would you feel???

psygnosis i totally agree with you,
you do feel good when you put the effort in to search and find a track that are limited to 500/1000 copies which is rare,

But when they repress a tune of mass quantity it makes you feel gutted,

Im searching for X-Trax - Plan 94 (The Voyager) the original 1 sided release from 1994 which has 1000 copies pressed, some do regularly pop up on ebay but i have to bid at least 20+ to win it.

If you collect vinyl because they're rare and not because of the musical value then I can only pity you...

WHAT?? I don't buy songs because they are rare, i buy it cause i WANT the song, because i LIKE the song...

Let the song be rare for all i care, but WHEN it is rare, don't touch it.

a few tunes i've payed out the ass for that have been re-pressed

Cloud 69- Sixty Nine Ways
Ayu- M (At least the Armin mix isn't getting re-pressed )
Cass&Slide- Glad I Ate Her

I havew mixed feelings about re-presses.. on one hand no sense in beeing greedy,,, but on the other hand it's a bit frustrating when someone can just order a re-press that they in fact may just be finding out about for the first time,,, while others looked for it for months even years on end.
