| Originally posted by Skipper You are giving voters WAY too much credit. Do you think people sat down and debated who should be #1 like you suggest? I don't. As I'm sure we all realized in high school, popularity is not based on anything tangible, like you suggest. |
PVD
Tiesto
Infected Mushroom
Jelo
BT
Lab4
These are the only DJs who I've seen during the last 365 days and liked.
P.S. Two DJs who really disappointed me were Steve Lawler and Armin. But I might like Armin if I see him again. The thing is that he was playing at the Guvernment at 4 in the morning, and I wasn't in a really good mood by the time he started playing after listening to all that boring tribal and progressive shit Steve Lawler plays. Plus Armin started out really slow, without any energy at all (unlike PVD!), so after listening to him for half an hour I just said: "Fuck it", and went home.

For example..."wow, Nyana was really good this year". I'll vote for Tiesto. Or "wow, Tiesto's set in Ibiza this year blew me away. He's def. #1 this year." Or again....."Tiesto In Concert was an amazing night...he deserves #1". Or..."Traffic was a top tune...#1 Dj this year." THen you have people who vote for him, like me, because he's their favourite no matter what. I highly doubt that most people who voted for Tiesto were doing so just because he's popular or "cool"....people aren't THAT stupid. |

Just because it's a British magazine doesn't mean it reflects only what british fans think. THe whole point of putting the poll on the internet is so that EVERYONE can vote. |

| Originally posted by Skipper Yes, everyone can vote, but the demographic was largely British and European clubbers. And I'm poking fun of British clubbers because it's true. |

| Originally posted by halo20 apparently NO. North Americans made up the majority this year. |
Amongst the many msg boards I've been reading over these last few days (5) it was brought up that the mag admitted that the north american vote was the most hefty.
I'm pretty sure it was the GU board.

Best DJ's This year
1. PVD
2. Tiesto
3. Ferry
4. Mark Oliver
5. James Zabiela
6. Gabriel and Dresden
7. Marco V
My favourite DJ is Tiesto. However, as Wayne Gretzky was always my favourite hockey player and was for a long time the best, at some point he fell from the top of his game. This is the case with Tiesto. Even I can agree after seeing him 10 times in Toronto, Miami, Copenhagen, Berlin, and Amsterdam that this year he is not the best. He was the best last year.
Paul Van Dyk is the best DJ this year. Like Lemieux who was for a while better than Gretzky, he has outlasted tiesto in stamina and staying power to once again become the best DJ on the planet.
Thank you
1. Marco V
2. Paul Oakenfold
3. Ferry Corsten
4. Flutlicht
5. Tiesto
6. S.H.O.K.K.
Tiesto kinda sucked in Toronto last year in December....and his remixes, productions and mix CD were poorer in quality than years past. On the production and release side of things....I'd say 2003 was far better.
I can only compare 2 gigs...but again, Tiesto's 2003 Toronto gig was much better than 2002 at the KH. So with my limited experience with Tiesto, he WAS better this year.
My picks:
Ferry
PVD
Armin
Mark Oliver
Mauro Picotto

6. scott bond
7. gilles peterson

3) Sander K
5) Lawler
6) Max Graham
