sure think Ultra Magnus....

I actually enjoy smokes. But yes, I'm addicted and it is stupid, but I'm working on it. At least with smokes it doesn't kill you within a few minutes.....you can do it for awhile and then realise how stupid it is. With E or this new Super Pill, you might not have more than one opportunity.

Since when can E kill you within a few minutes?
If it kills you within that time span then damn sorry, but it ain't E you took

ok....a matter of hours then.

Hmmm don't know what you've read about E but it can't actually kill you unless you:
a) take a bad pill (at which point it isnt E anymore)
b) don't drink enough (even tho i've heard of people who lasted a whole night
drinking just one bottle of water... not generally recommended tho)
c) mix it with other drugs (at which point it isn't the E that killed you but
the mix of drugs)

but the risk of getting a bad pill says it all...you can't trust anyone.

there's no point even arguing with you guys about this. You're all so blindly oblivious (shall we say OBTUSE) about the dangers of drugs and you'll foolishly sit there and tell anyone that there's nothing dangerous about them at all.....when in fact, any smart person knows there are risks.

actually that's not true. If you're going to risk it and buy a pill in a club
from a random dealer, then it's your tragedy if you take a bad pill.
But there are ways to test it, and ways to get pills beforehand. It's a matter
of trusting your dealer and through word of mouth really. There's always good
pills out there, just don't be stupid and risk getting a crap one by buying from
someone you don't know.

Why's that? So you don't get addicted? So you don't die?

This may be beyond the imagination of some, but drugs in a much broader concept can teach people to accept and be comfortable with emotions and experiences they would not be otherwise. Drugs are "mind-expanding" and I would bet that each user has been introduced to something new as a result of dosing *whatever* drug they choose to. Naturally, these new experiences include the good and the bad, the risks and the assurances, but that goes for any new experience.

There is an obvious issue of balance here, but there is with everything. You cannot live your life in a shoebox. There is a time and place for everything, and many many people (most, even) have gone through phases with drugs at some point or another. Many of them don't share these experiences with too many people, so you may think that only *some* people have tried drugs, while many have not. I hate to break it to you, but drug use is like masturbating for some - they feel guilty and hide it from others.

My point here is that experimenting with substances can be life-enriching if done in moderation.

I can certainly say that during my year(s) of heavier drug use, I learned a lot about myself, my limits, and my friends. I became close(r) to a lot of people when we were high and that probably would not have happened otherwise.

Fact is, you're more likely to die from stepping out of your front door in the morning than you are dosing an E. So enjoy your youth and live a little, already!

Skipper...sorry, but i just don't buy that argument. I'm not anti-drugs...I couldn't care less if all of you do E at a party, but it's just not for me, and I'm not going to recommend that someone go out and drop a pill. I tried it twice and it scared the absolute fuck out of me. I prefer to be clean and sober at a party, as I take everything in better that way. I'm not even a big drinker really...though when I do drink, I usually drink myself silly.

I just wish pro drug people wouldn't be so obtuse about the dangers from chemical drugs like E and whatever else is out there. At least admit that they are dangerous and CAN KILL YOU. That said, dropping a bill is a lot safer than shooting up with heroine or smoking crack (ironically, the American goverment tends to ignore that problem, focusing on drugs that are predominant in the electronic music scene). But for me, it's just not worth it.

ok you're obviously not very educated. you don't know that you can test the chemical compounds of any pill you buy? it's when you buy one random pill that you get in trouble. If you buy, say, ten pills at a better price, you can afford to get something to test one of the pills with, or all if you know how. if you know your body you're always fine (by always i mean 99 percent, because even legal drugs have a death risk). so do some research before preaching.. eh?

I'm not trying to convince you to do drugs. Don't be confrontational; I respect your choice to stay sober.

If you recall, I quoted you because you referenced drugs in the sense that they could kill you. As if they have no benefits whatsoever. Yes they can kill you, but yes, there are benefits if you educate yourself, use in moderation and have an open mind.

I'm not trying to suggest that drugs are cool, you should do them - all I'm trying to do is open your mind to the possibility that there are experiences there that are positive - not just the 4 hour high, but experiences that may open you up to new things and change your attitude and your life forever.

The argument that "drugs can kill you" (which is essentially what your post implied) is moot. Anything can kill you. Too much WATER can kill you. Did you know that?

One last thing: don't paint "drug users" with one brush. Drugs enter the lives of people from all different backgrounds: you'd be surprised at how many lawyers, teachers, government employees and HEALTH CARE WORKERS I have run into (mostly in the gay clubs - different crowd, more open to discussing such things, I find) that are using one substance or another. That being said, some of these people may be the most intellectual members of our society but they may not know anything about moderate drug use.

You can't assume that because people use drugs they don't know what they're doing, or even that they DO know what they're doing. Drug use is a choice as personal as it gets, IMO, so don't assume you know where people are coming from or that they do or do not know what they're getting themselves into.

Posted by Dj Smitty20 on Nov-10-2003 05:14:

I know respectable (and non respectable) people do drugs...I consider myself for the most part a good, normal Canadian citizen with a bright future, and yet I smoke cigarettes, drink alcohol, smoke the occasional blunt, chew the odd pot cookie and even eat a few mushrooms. I'm by no means "sober", but the chemical drugs like E just make me uncomfortable. They're not natural (like weed and mushrooms), and compared to the ones I've mentioned, are far more dangerous.

I think people SHOULD try everything at least once (well not everything) and then make up their mind. I've tried most drugs (except heroine or crack), and most of them just aren't my thing, especially coke and E...plus they're all expensive habits.

Yes Skipper, all of a sudden i have a lot of respect for you...... smitty, of all the drugs you mentioned only alcohol has been "proven" to kill brain cells, you should think more about "dangerous" drugs. Oh yeah, alcohol poisoning kills too.

but you should never get alcohol poisoning if you have half a brain. One bad pill and it can be lights out. I call that a major difference.

Posted by Teraform on Nov-10-2003 09:23:

ok im sitting here reading about all this talk about E....a lot of good points...and no body is trying to convince anybody to do anything...

as for smitty....sure you post a valid point about "some" people not realizine the dangers of E.....but if no body took some E then their would be nobody to tell you if that stuff was harmful or not....to add to your statment you keep saying stuff about bad pills this and bad pills that......odds of an E user getting a bad pill are very slim actually....i have done my homework on this stuff....looked up E related deaths....and every time i see an E related death it was because they had more then just E in their system....they were also drinking.....taking other drugs....in some cases taking Vast amounts of Liquid E with alcohol and other drugs......

Like i said the chance's of getting a bad pill are low.....it just doesnt happen everyday....chemists that make this drug make sure their stuff is right.....why or why would a drug dealer want to kill you....they are going to want to have good product so you will come back right?.....then why the hell would he sell bad shit....unless he didnt know.....then of course if the dealer does not know anything about the drug....are you going to buy from him....if your the average person that even knows the slightest things about drugs you know buying chemical drugs from a dealer that knows nothing about what he is selling you is a very bad idea......

On this note im not going to make a personal attack...but as to you taking E and saying it scared the shit out of you....well man that only has something to do with your subconsious....nothing more.....in your head you are afriad of something about the drug.....maybe you thought it was going to kill you...or maybe someone said something to you and it just triggered something in your mind.....thats all it is man....nothing more....

E is....and i dont want to sound like Pro-drug everybody should take it...im pro choice...if you want to do it be my guest....i know i have done this drug on several occastions and never once had a bad time.....i have since quit doing it...but i have a lot of wicked memories of those nights.....i made a lot of wicked friends...that i probably would have never would have meet would it have not been for the E......but thats not what im trying to say.....all im saying is that E is not as dangerous as some people make it out to be.....

Today i do not experience any side effects...no matter what those lab people say about what the drug can do you to after you have taken it....i one time had a cop tell me that upon first use of E its 48% addictive....on second use its 96% addictive....i find that a bunch of shit....i was never addicted.....it was a fun drug and i wanted to give it a go for a while and see what it was like....its just like saying well one time i smoked this joint and it was awsome....but i dont smoke anymore cause one time is good enough for me....how many people can say one Rave is good enough for them......E is total state of mind...thats all....sure has some side effects....but long term....i dont know to get long term side effects do you have to use it for 20 years....give me a break i know people that have used it for 8 to 10 years....some of the coolest people i have ever come across let me say...an they seem like very healthy people.....

Anyway....thats just me....smitty i dont want you to feel like im climbing all over you or something because of what you side....but it all comes down to whether or not something is safe or not...and let me tell you i would rather do E then Acid....overdose....well if your stupid you can overdose....sure...but why would u say...hey im going to take 10 hits of E tonight....then i think i will take 9 tabs of Acid....snort a few lines.....and drink 40 beer.....as to my point earlier that chances to die from just doing E are very low....bad hits you say....well you just have to be careful...sure their are lots of bad hits of E....but then again to say what many others of said its just not E at that point....If you cant trust the guy your buying your drugs from then why the hell are you buying drugs from him in the first place?

Anyway thats all i got to say about that....
PEACE OUT
P.L.U.R.
dont forget....just cause its chemical....doesnt mean its going to kill you...people take tylonal by the shit load and it dont do shit to them....hahahahahaha
