I have to say only one word... *Research*
8 to 10 hours a day thats what I do... Most of the djs I know only shop when I am online or they call me So i can give em some good Track Names hehe ... Well I research By Labels First.. I am on almost all Good (at least for me) Labels Mailing Lists... Anything New that comes out I Try to look for it.. If its not Vinyl than its Mp3.. And I will play the CDR till I find the Mp3.. and I listen to a Lot of Online Radio and I must say I love XTC Radio and usually I try to find the Tracklists... And i have been blessed with some Promo Pools hehe So i get to get some quality stuff Before anyone else... Thats always a Plus.
Just Research on your favorite artists or what Label they are from. I can Tell you its Deffinite Help Read a lot of Magazines Online Research... Hope I was helpful.. And Ask me if you want some nice fresh Tune Ids

Ok, I just want different people's answers to this question. How does everyone keep up with all the electronic music out there? I've been into trance for going on two years now and I am CONSTANTLY seeing names of songs and mixes and producers that I have NEVER heard of. Trance is ALL I listen to. I've listened to internet radio like Digitally Imported and been reading internet sites and all.... I just don't see how anyone could ever know all the different songs and mixes and producers. Maybe it's because I spend a lot of time listening to live DJ sets. I'm TOTALLY about the live set compared to buying a studio album. Anyway, just wanted to see what people had to say....

Good point addressed here. I used to keep up with trance piece of cake between 2000 and mid-2001, but since I became busy, and now I fell badly behind, and though I know 99 percent of the DJs that I hear, new tracks and artists make me go . All the music channels and TVs, music stores concentrate is primarily crap and they dont give a shit about electronica, and the electronica they do advertise is usually all cheesed-out (even though considering that I am usually soft on cheese). And starting this upcoming January, in the next 3-4 years I'll have little or so access to a computer, so I'll fall even more behind ........ .......

thats what i love about Trance its so diverse, theres so much stuff out there, and its a mystery to find stuff thats out there that u havent heard before...
thats the beauty about trance i think, to listen to trance, is to be not only on a musical journey, but also a journey to find the ever changing music......
just my 2 cents

I just very simply gave up on trying to keep up with new releases/music/etc. Just enjoy the small portion I get access to.

There was a time when Trance Classics interested me a lot. At that time I got to know a lot of tracks which are "essential" for every TA. I try to listen to ASOT every week, thus, I get to know some ne tunes. There is always a genre, which interests ne a lot. At the moment i am discovering prog trance. I think that listening to sets is a good way to acquaint a lot of tunes.
