I've never taken drugs...but in the future, yeah, I'm willing to experiment with them.

hehe i agree with that statement on some fronts, but not on this one....djway's been pretty much right on the money with what he's said in this thread....u never can be too careful - and it's always when u let ur guard down that shit u totally weren't expecting to happen happens.......

back a couple years ago when i used to post on bluelight (i don't these days, cos it focuses too much on certain aspects of this scene which aren't a major interest for me), a few ppl here in aus got a nasty surprise when it turned out the cops had been paying very close attention to the forums and, in part because of what they'd been posting, they got some not so nice visits from the boys in blue.....and, in the States, the cops there used that site to monitor a big meet-up that was planned....consequently, it was infiltrated and raided and some nasty shit went down...........so, don't be so stupid as to think that things u post here about ur illegal activities can't come back and bite u on the ass.......

it's really just not worth it.....and what good things r gonna come from ppl publically announcin their drug use anyway?? besides, last time i looked, this site was called TRANCEaddict...not DRUGaddict

Posted by Romp on Nov-15-2003 11:08:

well if you dont deal you dont have anything to worry about, thats the bottom line, unless you are unlucky enough to get caught in possession, which isnt going to happen as a consequence of posting on a msg board

Another thing worth noting is that mods can see who voted for what...

Enjoy yourself, make your own informed decisions, but do so in moderation rather than addiction.

yep a few years ago one of my friends went down for organizing a....errr... "meetup" and subsequently got busted by ASIO......very, very scary stuff can happen when you least suspect it

Posted by Antistatic on Nov-15-2003 15:05:

OK some serious advice: yep I agree, each to their own. Don't be so stupid as to solicit drugs on the internet. If you are planning on experimenting wait till you have at least finished your HSC (or equivalent). Oh, and cops can't do shit if you have an expensive lawyer or you are smart enough not to give away any concrete evidence. If they moniter your interactions, i.e. sms conversations, you can quite rightly launch a formal complaint against them if they don't have enough evidence already to justify a search warrant.

The law that was passed at the same time as the weapons law (IE you can search someone if you believe they're a threat) was a law based on police "have" a warrant if they believe someone could solict drugs, on suspicion only. It allows them to begin taps/traces. I'm not sure how long they can go without more evidence, i'd say not long, but it doesn't take much. That law was brought in last year or the year before?

Can't find the law, but it was brought it AFTER the >16 year old buying knives is about all I can remember.

I'm not law dude, don't get me wrong, just remember weird laws

Bad to read I'm not the only 1 who's lost a friend to this, good to read there are people who view the World Wide Web with no trust

This poll should have a "used to do them but learned the hard way" option. What's the score looking like right now?

Really? That's fucked! Freakin' crappy laws!

Posted by one.tjc on Nov-16-2003 04:22:

to alleviate any issues some may have [djway..]

the question is - have you tried/do drugs

not "are you a big time hezza dealer of south sydney, abbot st."

and to stimulate some conversation among au.ta's

no harm meant, anyways, its an anonymous poll and as if the police would care if we have tried drugs, i mean, how many police dont take panadol every now and then

Posted by matt_a on Nov-16-2003 07:40:

hahahaha

sounds like we are talking about illegal weapons and drug trafikking rather than usage. eg. Tapping Phone Lines, wearing Camo, fake moustaches and SWAT teams. Why would the cops waste all that money (Which they prob don't have anyway) on trying to catch a few users, that maybe take drugs 3 or 4 times a year?? If you ask me it seems a little ludicrous. And you can't get busted anyway if not in posession, so WTF!?

Posted by muli on Nov-16-2003 09:24:

if you take 2 pills every few weeks, the cops are not going to care.

but posting on blue light about your activities is bloody stupid really, as if the police wouldnt monitor that!

Posted by wick on Nov-16-2003 10:59:

geezus people. the cops arent gonna give a shit about users. they're after dealers. stop being so paranoid.
if djway is correct, so many people on bluelight would have gotten busted for using, but that isnt the case. chill out a bit.

Posted by lethal on Nov-16-2003 11:02:

i can see the sense of going after users really (even though i think its absolutley shit and they should DEFINITELY be focusing on the importers/manufacturers)..... how many casual users are going to be willing to take a wrap if they get caught?? Most would dob in their dealers, and then the dealers dob in their dealers and so on.... unfortunately i doubt very much it ever gets back to the big guns because of things like loyalty to and/or fear of the big guns....

I honestly believe however that anytime they have one of those big "lets get heaps of cops down oxford street/kings cross and search everyone" things its all just a publicity stunt.... whens the next election??

It is The 2 coppers I know both call it police presence; with the intent to remind people they are about more so then to catch everyone.

can police use computers??

Posted by OLi_A on Nov-16-2003 13:45:

of course they can use computers
dont you watch tv?

Posted by SoupaFlys on Nov-16-2003 13:50:

well, it's your decision whether to publicly flaunt the fact that you take drugs. if you're stupid enough to do it, then if you get busted, you deserve it. is it likely gonna happen? probably not. is it worth the risk? definitely not.

No, never will.

I could bark all day about why I choose not to, but at the end of the day I've made the concious decision not to do it, and thats all that matters to me.

You can say I'm too 'conservative' or 'not with it' but I gotta be honest, I find the idea taking drugs to 'have a good time' fucking lame.

So that's why your sets are so fucking boring.....
