Seriously though, I dont think the two have any significance with respect to each other.

Ya, you are right, there really is no boundary for music. Music is indiscriminatory against all people, may be even llamas too!

LOL!! This is the stupidest fucking thread I've ever seen.

Posted by Lost Inhibition on Nov-16-2003 04:05:

im a born again believer and i enjoy hardcore and hard techno. trance however is still my preference in music. so yes, ur theory is kinda off

Posted by tabthe3 on Nov-16-2003 04:06:

i bet the only religion that doesnt like/listen to techno is the amish...

religion doesnt really correlate to anything tangible i dont think. you can find ppl of all types who are both religous, not religious, and anti-religous (thats me, anti-religous).

Posted by Floorfiller on Nov-16-2003 04:16:

well...lets face it...there are two types of christians...

1. Those that were raised Catholic and either are non-praticing or share the basic beliefs of the church

and

2. Those stupid christians that think that skim milk is the devil and that we're all going to hell anyway.

of course those are grose exagerations...but hopefully it was offensive enough to get the point across...

obviously the later of those two would consider techno evil...

Posted by Numb3rJuan on Nov-16-2003 04:58:

Born catholic. Raised Pentecostal ( i swear dude this religion you can't do shit). But I still consider myself a non religion guy. And from what my parents know that I started to listen to trance/techno a quite bit long time ago.. they absolutely have no problem with it.

Posted by DJ Rat 187 on Nov-16-2003 05:16:

OH YA, F.Y.I. TECHNO DOSNT HAVE TOO MANY SUBGENRES ITS ELECTRONICA THAT SPLITS INTO TECHNO TRANCE HOUSE TRIBAL ETC.

Posted by jdjd on Nov-16-2003 06:04:

But its kinda right too

Posted by satelites on Nov-16-2003 14:11:

look, im sure there are christians that dont like techno but hows about they jus dont like it? theres a hell of a lot of people that dont like techno, doesnt mean they're all christian. the only christians who wont listen to it cos they think its the devils music are the ones that live in their own little world and dont listen to music at all, you cant generalize their behaviour to all christians cos of that, it jus dont work that way

ps. o an another thing, christians, catholics etc. are different whether you like it or not. they have different values etc. and arent precisely the same

You fool! Do you believe that he meant people like you? Who don't believe?

I also have the notion that really christian people will stay clear of techno and acid. This music, in my theory of what they might mean, is satans way of dragging young people down in the drain, partying doing drugs and certainly not praying.

Anyways, I just came from Ecuador, and I can tell you this:
They are true catholics, and in the disco there was this dirty
latino house... Great!

Posted by mndeg on Nov-16-2003 17:44:

are we talking about dj rush techno or dj sammy "techno"?

almost everyone doesn't listen to techno because it's not easy to get into, you can't just go from listening to something like 50 cent - in da club to some techno song which relatively is extremely repetitive

Hehe, I'm Jewish and I listen to pretty much all subgenres of electronica.

To respond to mndeg's comment about "techno" being repetitive. Isn't hip hop/rap also? I mean, the beat in electronica is repetitive, but hip hop/rap always talks about the same crap. Plus all the videos for it are the same; girls, cars, money and "ice".

Do You believe in a godd who satisfies do you believe in a godd who opens eyes do you believe in a god who tells you lies or do you believe in me

Seriously, it sounds corny, but music IS my religion. I don't agree with many practices of all religions, they're all faulted in their own ways, but music is something that's played a huge part in my life, without it I wouldn't have the friends I have, and they're more importantly wouldn't be who I am.

Music/Lifestyles are more than religion because you can relate to people of all 'faiths' and religions, and I've made many friends, be them jewish, christian, muslim, hindu, or other through music, and i'll be damned if religion is going to stop me like a lot of people in the world let it
