people who refer to electronica as techno or "that techno shit" piss me off to no end. these are the people who need to be strapped to a chair and forced to listen to various genres of electronica until they can tell the difference.
i guess i'm lucky with the parents thing tho, if they're in the right mood my parents don't mind me blasting trance or house, in fact sometimes they even like it

Here's the opposite. I tell one of my sons his guitar riffs can't ever match the power of electronic Trance. Yet, they still bang on strings. Go figure!

On this topic, my roommate was one of the most difficult people to get to like any kind of electronica... so she runs up to me today and tells me she bought a techno cd... so I'm thinking she followed my lead and got a Tiesto, Armin, PVD, Oakenfold, Judge Jules.... anything I've showed her...
She pulls out a DJ Encore CD! *gag* *faint* I thought I taught her better, in fact, she also bought... DJ Sammy! 
Side Note: Shame on DigiNut, web bots aren't supposed to flirt!
Trance is probably the hardest type of music to make (nobody seems to realise this). U have to make the sounds urself. Playing instruments is just like using a preset on a synth.
Also, theres loads of different sounds in a trance tune (many more than in other types of music) and they all have to sound good together.
