PvD snob.

first post is ghey. Whatever the dj plays makes it their style. Not what their listeners say.

so avb is now an electro dj?

Posted by jdjd on Nov-20-2003 23:44:

armin prog? hahaha he starts his ASOT with a few prog tunes, but the rest is trance.. and his livesets are mostly trance with some techno...
Most Nu nrg tracks would sound good in a trance, techno, or even a techno/hardstyle set...

jdjd thanks for saying something reguarding the topic

looking at armins last live set he played a lot of prog, and some voc trance/harder trance...i just dont want to see every dj playing the same tracks... i feel avb tiesto and paul have their own styles and shouls stay with them...it seems that paul and armin are merging wich i feel sucks...if i want to go to a fast high energy set i will see paul, if i want something a little calmer i would go to armin...

so wat makes him "electro"

Posted by sandstorm03 on Nov-20-2003 23:57:

pvd, askew, hardwick, nu nrg i wouldnt call them exactly trance, more electronic acid sounds...just listen to a pvd set, and a avb set and listen to the difference

Posted by UWM on Nov-20-2003 23:58:

02 - Andain - Beautiful Things (Josh Gabriel Remix) [Black Hole]

05 - Marco V & Jens - Loops & Things (Relooped) [ID&T]

06 - Little Wonder - Eclipse [Hooj Choons]

09 - Scanners - Gypsy [De Beuk Music]

According to your theory, Paul should not be playing these songs that he played on his latest Soundgarden set. Many DJs have been playing them for quite some time now, and you wouldn't want him merging towards their style now would you!?!

Your a idiot, no seriously you are!

So your saying Armins style is "calm"? please get your facts right, i'm laughing here. PVD and Armin both make their own share of "calm" songs, but not enough that i would regard them as calm djs.

I think this post from "Ste" from another thread relates to you easily.

Posted by sandstorm03 on Nov-21-2003 00:00:

wat kind of dumbass question is that? why would the top 3 djs play all same tunes? They do overlap a coupla tunes here and there. . . .but still.

Posted by jdjd on Nov-21-2003 00:02:

i think you may have the genre's mixed up a bit bro...

Nu nrg and John Askew im pretty sure are pure trance, just that nu nrg is harder and higher energy (youll find that most trance producers makes a few techno tunes on the side)...

Posted by Psygnosis on Nov-21-2003 00:05:

What drugs are you on sandstorm03?

Posted by Floorfiller on Nov-21-2003 00:14:

hey if armin tries to mix it up a bit...thats fine with me...at least he doesn't play a bunch of tracks that have the same feeling to them...

Posted by arturob on Nov-21-2003 01:05:

lee, do me a favor and stfu.

you have no idea what electro is do you?
hehe, check out stuff from Anthony Rother, Vitalic, Miss Kittin, Legowelt

real electro is stuff with 808 drums and old synths from the 80s hehe
oldschool hiphop used those drum machines, try Afrika Bambata - Planet rock

ehm something like that, very far from Nu-NRG, pvd and askew

Posted by Tranz on Nov-21-2003 02:58:

electro = westbam... not nu-nrg. ffs!

This thread is a classic!

*waits for more

I dunno about ASOT, Connective isn't as hard n fast as Nu NRGs other material, so I think it would work well for Armin. Will get ASOT to see how it flows with the set though. Then again, it's strange that I never saw you complain when Armin played Pure Thrust (Nu NRG Remix). As for Askew, Nu NRG, PvD and Hardwick not being trance djs/producers: I think you need to get your definitions straight. And as for Armin and PvD merging:FFS. The day I see Armin boshing out a 150 BPM set a la PvD @ Einheitsrave is the day the world catches fire.
