wrong. It's up to the individual to decide if he/she thinks the track is cheesy or not. Also, that doesn't mean the track leaves its genre.

my opinion.

maybe it isnt a forum for all the other styles but a lot of music and threads here in this forum have a lot of prog/house stuff..even if people still will refering it as trance...

Hey all!

I am new here, relatively new to trance, and I have been having a difficult time finding similar trance to the following tunes. My wife and I love these songs because of their funky beats, massive bass, and what she describes as "extreme points". I am sure there is a trance term for this. To try to explain, this is when the music will go from fast to slow, high to low, or other extreme changes. Are the below songs considered "hard" trance, or is there another category for them?

oscar G and ralph falcon - addicted to drums
dj balloon - bad & sexy
dj fbi - red pill blue bill
dj alligator - stomp
lock and load "blow your mind" dj icey remix
johnny vicious - ectasy
drax ltd. 2 - "amphetamine"
fatboy slim - "funk soul brother"
lautsprecher - "omnibus"

This should give a few of you trance pros an idea of what style of trance we like. Do you have any song or artist recommendations so we can buy similar type music?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

check out junkie xl and let me know what you think. good luck

EY Rockerhard, the Lock and Load and the Dj FBI tracks are both breakbeat tracks. some consider them Florida breaks. any way u can find more fbi stuff at http://www.djfbi.com/. hope that helps

I'm guessing you've never heard Bubba Sparxxx then?

most of the mainstream rap is crap. although i have to admit that the beats can truly be strokes of genius.
to each their own of course...

anyways rockerhard; heh, the stuff you've listed there is definitely what i started listening to before i started listening to more 'underground' stuff. they're catchy, easy-to-dance stuff that i heard in my local club all the time.

anyways, songs that you may like ...

fast - transmission
franchino - 999
dj balloon - technorocker
dj balloon - monstersound
BK - Revolution (Alphazone remix)
DJ Kim - Jetlag (Alphazone remix)
any 'Ayla' songs
mauro picotto - komodo
cosmic gate - exploration of space
beam vs cyrus - thunder in paradise (scot project mix)
dj air - alone with me (flutlicht mix)

Ayla Part 2!!! definitely.. not sure what other people thing about it but i love it and im new to trance too. so what do the trance experts think about it? is it considered cheesy, or "sugar-coated"?

Posted by tdmusic on Nov-26-2003 01:46:

Ayla 2.. is cheese And it is classic in my opinion! It's all down to personal preference really, I used to be hardcore only in to trance back in 99/2000... since then I have branched out a lot in what I listen to.. and it's nice to come back and realise the classic tunes are still classics and there _is_ some quality new stuff coming out (along with a lot of what I would consider generic, recycled crap ).

I don't think it's right to have a go at someone for their taste in tunes, if you like a song you like a song, it doesn't have to fit a certain genre or a certain attitude.

As for the tunes you mentioned.. kinda all over the show But yeah check out stuff like The Crystal Method, that kinda breakbeat may be something you'd like, quite energetic, but keeping breakdowns and certain elements of "trance".
