i like it when people dress up a bit
the last few years people have been going out like they are going to play sports

with sneakers or not it is all about
having a fashion sense, having the
ability to coordinate colors and
textures in harmonious ways...
just like with music, the majority
of well known of dj's s___ bec they
either ignore such attribute or
simply bec they don't have it
an average looking girl with
great style looks great or even
fantastic with the right outfit!
as long as it is sensual and of
good taste, which is rare...
there is a store i love for young
woman located in colombus avenue
between 69 and 70 st on the westside
of the street, next to an argentinean
pizzeria named "rigoletto"
their clothing lines are so fresh,
sexy and flawless
anyway, as long as the clubs have
different dress codes i don't mind
wearing loafers one night and
sneakers the other lol
If you absolutely have to wear sneakers...
If you have to absolutely wear snekers then just make them trendy. Now I now a lot of you addicts aren't focused on what's trendy now, so I'll clue you in. The sporty chic look is very in right now. To Ferry I wore diesel JEANS, Asics running flats, and a sporty clubby mesh long sleave shirt. Granted the jeans were very stylized and NOT baggy (baggy = very not trendy, bouncers specifically told to look out for people in baggy clothes), but what I was wearing was very comfortable. So for sneakers what's in? Racing flats Nike, Asics, and whole bunch of companies make them, plus since they were meant to be run in they have all this cool reflective material on them that looks awesome in the club's lights. Other acceptable sneakers are pumas which you can even buy at Barney's now. If you stick to rules like this you'll never have a problem with dress codes. ;-)
well i see that this fashion thing has came up and thought i'd drop my 2cents into it. i understand fashion is an art that alot of people like to express (whether they are heard or not) i think that fashion is according to society's norm, and reflects no personal interest. i wear what i want to wear cuz i like to wear it lols...on that note do you have to be fashionably the same as everyone else to enter an establishment. dont be misunderstood by what im saying, im just stating that yes it may be proper to dress proper to go into a club but face it, we are here for the music so let us dress as long as we have a shirt, pants, and sneakers on we should be allowed to enter the club, especially if we have money. so wat if i came up to the club dressed as a bum but dropped 2Gs at the door guy to let me in do you think he'll let me in? interesting aint it....
but not to attack the fashion statements people make, i for one find that when people "dress up" then tend to dress with the least amount of clothing possible which by all means i do not object too so maybe going to avalon again isnt all that bad dont ya think =P
I will be wearing something for the bouncers on Wednesday nite...

I heard that if you bought a ticket for Avalon in advance, you'd get in, no matter what (even if you're only with a group of guys)... And Arc, another "world renowned club" doesn't have a dresscode (at least to my knowledge), why does Avalon have one? Dresscodes at clubs are stupid, people should go dressed however they want (within taste). |
geez, i cant believe he is STILL playing punk. i never thought that song was that great, i liked it for a little period of time last year, but that song is just too old, and not that good to still be playing. i hope he doesnt drop it at glow in dec

Vic, im proud of you for making a statement here too---I think it's fun to get a bit dressed up to go out...im ont saying guys should be in patent leather shoes and all girls should be in Stilettos with Fendi bags---but there are creative, cool, ecclectic outfits that we can all wear and afford that complement the aura of nyc nightlife that has existed and evolved throughout the years. NYC is the definition of fabulous, and appearance is part of the act. If we all went out in sleeveless shirts and our running shoes that would be a bit trashy...it is NOT pretentious to reflect the nature of the environment you are in!! (Im speaking in my personal opinion here, even though my tone suggests otherwise
)
I will always be a bit partial in this type of topic. I love to get dressed up when I go out...---this is just my style...but everyone on here who knows me, knows im far from a stuck up pretentious boy who thinks he is hot shit because of the clothes on his back. IM a wacky indivudual who loves to get dressed up, go out, act like an idiot, dance all night, and be surrounded by my amazing friends. I dont get dressed up to " or to impress the boys and girls....it just feels good for me

OK I thought they were 10 or something, used to be that much with limelight ....I am off drink for now so I dont really know
Thats a good buy tho, esp for a club!!! no wonder everyone was falling down
I know! when the bartender asked me for $7 I said, "you must be shitting me, that is amazing!" When I took a sip i felt the nasty vodka attack my throat and I was really pleased that a club was being so generous. how refreshing is that??
and yes, i was thinking while looking around that the entire place was over the top wasted. I think that is fun and I like it. Drunk people dont bother me, even when they bumpo into me on the dance floor.
PS, did anyone see the VICIOUS girl fight near the limo outside around 5am? my god it was amazing! The girls were pulling eachother out of the limos, punching, pulling, scratching----total CAT fight fiesta it was pretty ridiculous to watch but entertaining nonetheless. The guy puking alongside was the best part.
ANd also, how have none of you spoken about the fact that Ferry Spun a Gouryella track?? I believe it wa Walhalla. I lvoe that trackj and I thought many others did too.
Tek, didnt you spin Walhalla or tenshi at Centro this summer? I remember when vic spun take my breath away---I used to love that song too.
ok this post is getting erratic im stopping now. xom

yes the sound system is truly exceptional there...but someone on here made a very good point earlier...it isnt tweaked for trance. Progressive sounds like those Nick Warren are ideal for the Avalon system. I cant express in words how incredible Nick Warren's show sounded at avalon...a clear difference. anyone else notice this?

| Originally posted by janieliza Excellent pic is that thru the glass? Wow, nice And on another note... OK I liked the Ferry set, but hated the crowd. If you are not well wasted (I wasnt) this ends up being really hard to deal with my feet have just stopped hurting from getting stepped on... Alcohol&small venue= take off those shoes, trainers, or whatever or dont step on ppls feet! What happened to "excuse me miss..." thats all they need to say sometimes.... Regardless, I would go again (to Avalon), as the sound is nice and loud and they are bringing in alot of top acts these days...But can't drink there too expensive. I'm lucky this week, blessed by the trance gods am going to see Ferry again Saturday... NEC IN uk...hope I can recover lol any ideas from this fashion thread what to wear there? |

okie will suck
sasha will be amazing
my fav neighbourhood is Earls Court. (equivalent of the East Village i think) Very cool and off the beaten path a bit === lots of locals, aussies, awwwwesome bars, and it is stil in the center. Get a "Let's Go England" book before you goi....its essential and better than lonely planet and the others. It's tailored specifically to our age demographic and youth travelers. it has been my travel bible for years and years. nightlife, food, accomodations, all of it is in ther.e
anyone else want to add their 2 cents?
is Wally Ferry's nickname? is he always drunk at shows?
