The first time I loved trance it made me very narrow minded as I once thought trance being the only great music.

But later on I've learnt to distinguish quality and crap from each other. The point being I have to listen to trance carefully and attentatively to know whats good about it, this has help me appreciate other genres such as classical and some aspects of pop.

Its taught me not to take trance for granted, when its listened to way too much, it loses its feeling. Currently I only listened to trance about only once a month. So its a feels great when hearing it rarely.

And being a classical music nut, trance gives me inspirations in that field of music as well... I mean, if you listen to some Trance artists, their sound patternings are reminiscent of Mozart!

Same here buddy, I have absolutely NO friends that like trance or techno in general, I grew up in some hicksville where everybody listened to rap metal or country. But I like being different, and I think all those people who make those lame excuses for not liking electronica don't know what they are missing.

growing up in a cornfield isn't always the easiest thing, but at least i think i'm special and i try to educate these poor souls, introduce to them the wide and amazing world of trance music...mmmmmmmmmmm yummay

It's good to have a diverse taste in music but it is dumb to act like one genre is above all others and then proceed to change which genre it is each week. It's hard to tell if aplz is doing it for the attention or not but the good thing that came out of this thread is people showing their appreciation for trance.
