if the mods close too many threads cos they are idiotic we are moaned at cos we're stopping the fun, when we don't close them we are not doing our job, that was what the feedback thread was all about and we did get some very good replies in that thread, thank you very much

some of those comments are being acted upon.

and sorry UWM, i am gonna reopen this thread for a while so ppl can have the chance to reply to my comment.

Quite alright, as I suppose my putting in the last word and closing it without anyone having the chance to respond was a bit unfair in the first place.

For starters, I don't understand the point of threads upon which the opening post is a statement so absurd that no one can really comment on it, or commenting on it would just seem a waste of time.

The "Look at my avatar or my new sig" threads, irritate the hell out of me. If you made a new one, and I actually bother to read any of your posts, I will notice it. No need to start a pointless thread on it.

Draw the line upon pathetic and useless reply's such as MERTON's. (Not necessarily trying to bash here, but he is a perfect example). I honestly cannot think of one time any of his reply's were useful, or made any coherrent sense!

I'm not saying take the fun out of COR, because we all like to have ridiculous fun at times, but this is just becoming unbearable.

Rude, or offending comments need to stop. Not saying flame wars necessarily need to stop (unless they are getting uncontrollable, because we all like to watch... and I like to participate ) But the ones that are deliberatly trying to offend people, that's being taken too far.

I can think of quite a number of people that we all would like to get rid of.

Maybe we should have a vote

I agree with u on your points, all very valid comments, and i try to be as fair as possible (hence the bored little banshee thread still being open, lol)

If we find a thread idiotic, we could be mature I suppose and choose not to read it. We don't have to "flame" those who have already posted. We don't have to bother or insult others. If we get too frustrated, we could switch forums or even turn off the computer and read a book.

Sometimes, its fun to flame or criticize or rag on others. Especially if we're feeling sexually frustrated, its a wonderful way to reduce that frustration

Sometimes I think the mods close silly threads way too quickly and let other equally silly threads stay open way too long.

i don't see how the people who flame the people who post immature stuff are actualy mature. name calling or bashing seems pretty immature to me. not that it bothers me. i find it humerous.
its just pretty hypocritical on their part.

Come to think of it, I probably am one of the younger posters.

As for the re-opening, I basically agree with anuneventrade, posts like the ones METRON makes are stupid, pointless, and really do ruin some of the decent threads around. Not to single anyone out, but I can't recall one occasion when i've seen him post anything but spam/pointless rubbish.

/me wonders how UWM closed the thread when he doesn't sppear to be a mod

Agreed. Any threads that are "Look at my new blah de blah" or "I've just done something very uninteresting" really don't warrant a response and it's threads like this that are diluting the interesting content of the forums.

Threads that will invoke pointless spamming. These are usually threads where the creator has put no effort into thinking of something worthwhile to say, but feels obliged to make a post about basically nothing.

Also threads with "hahahahahaha" as the thread name should be instantly recognised as garbage. Fair enough if it's a funny picture - post it - but do it in the right forum.

It's a shame TA is getting overrun by this kinda rubbish. As I said earlier, I'm now literally filtering through the pish to find a subject that is worthy of a reply...

I've been on ta almost 3 yrs and it does not surprise me of the idiocy that we have on these boards. People who get bored and for the only purpose to amuse themselves, they start useless threads (you people know who you are). Some others have useless replies not even related to the threads. It's pathetic and tranceaddict is suffering because of it. So I'll make a bold statement to the idiots..either shape up or ship out.

Just ban Merton and the idiocy will drop back to acceptable levels, he even admitted he posts useless shit.

As Montie said, I just try to ignore it now, and stick to the rest of the forums unless I can spot a worthwhile thread here in Chill Out. Some of them are hilarious which is why I started visiting this area, but the majority are downright pointless. =\

Here's a hint though, if you have to keep closing threads, why not just suspend those people who keep starting them? Then you won't have to close threads all the time.
