Smoking ..umm..something

I think Ferry makes one of the best mixes in this world, along with PVD and Tiesto, but his own stuff is much more different than any other Dj outthere, he's a good man!

Posted by <tuss> on Dec-17-2003 07:23:

corsten is the fuckin man, anyone who does'nt like him has proably just never seen him live, and seen how much he rocks parties, same goes for his tunes, 'rock your body rock' , and 'right of way', both are just mental when heard at a party. i just cant wait for him to hit up canada again.!!

Posted by Sebraa on Dec-17-2003 07:53:

first when I heared ROCK YOUR BODY I thought this track is very overproduced !! Now I just love that catchy song ... after seeing Ferry live! The new album is too experiment for me but SUBLIME and KYOTO -> WOW!

And epic-euphoric fans beware the new GOURYELLA album

Ferry = alltime DJ nr.1

Being norwegian you should know for a fact that Norefjell is a mountain in Norway. Tiesto first came up with this tune at an arrangement there, hence the name of the tune. Quality stuff indeed.

As for Ferry I must say I like his older stuff better than most of his new one. I'm not saying his new stuff is bad, it's just not my cup of tea.

Here is a poem i wrote summarizing this thread:

Sometimes Ferry is good.
Sometimes Ferry sucks.
If you think he is
the best dj in the world,
He is underrated.
If you think that
someone else is #1
then he is not.
If you eat MDMA
or use other substances
any dj is probably good.

Any of the top 100 djs must be good because they wouldnt get in there in the first place. Anyone who gives Djs shit all the time should shut the fuck up , become number 1 dj then talk.

Yeah ferry rocks.

Can anyone give me some suggestions for Ferry Corsten Tracks/Mixes/Live Sets to listen to? I have heard some of his stuff and i thought it was awesome. Still, i haven't heard much of his stuff compared to the amount of Tiesto/PVD tracks that i have heard.

Tracks by Ferry that i have heard are:

Ferry Corsten - Punk very catchy, ORIGINAL tune
Gouryella - Ligaya classic track
Gouryella - Tenshi
Gouryella - Walhalla
Gouryella - Gouryella
Rank 1 - Awakening (Ferry Corsten Mix)
System F - Cry
System F - Elevate OMGIDIE
System F - Out of the blue
One of the best trance tracks of all time, i absolutely adore this track, STILL, after listening to it hundreds of times.
System F - Spaceman
William Orbit - Adagio for strings (Ferry Corsten Mix)
In my opinion, Ferry comletes this classic track. I think that all this track needed was a proper intro, and Ferry gave it that with his Mix, so in my opinion this is a complete classis. My all time favourite track!!!!!!!

Does anyone agree with me about Ferry copmpleting the track by giving it a proper intro???

P.S. Damn Gouryella owns!!! I wish they had more tracks, cos they are very. very good.

Thumbs up

Hes been going strong since 97, and my idol at one point. This new "electro trance" wave hes help creating, is just another evolution that hes willing to make, just as he pioneered the 99 trance sound.

IMO his latest album is pushing the boundaries and taking risks, and uve gotta give him credit, even ifs its not most ppls tastes.

ferry corsten is teh ownage his productions, remixes and mixing skills are the best i've heard in recent memory. i'm hoping to see him live on new years eve, if i get to go it will undoubtedly be one of the best nights of my life

edit - production-wise, i prefer his more trancey stuff (like Sublime) to stuff like Rock Your Body Rock. still quality though.

only Ferry Corsten[and a few others] can keep the uplifting sound alive and kicking.. his new album is absolutely amazing especially Sweet Sorrow, Rigt of Way, Sublime, Kyoto, Whatever !, Punk... one of the true innovator/pioneer of the dutch trance sound and the new direction hes taking is awesome.. one of the few artist[if not only] to release an artist album[Ferry Corsten - Right of Way{2003}] and an alias album[System F - Out of the Blue{2001}] this guy just dont seem to run out of ideas.. very consistant in all fields.. and to top it off, one of the nicest 'people' ive ever met.. much respects to the flying dutchman.

The Trance Nation CD's were so much better when Ferry mixed them. What were MoS thinking when they stopped hiring him to do it?? Oh yeah, thats right, they sold out to commercial cheesy euro pop crap. What's the best they can do now?? Get Jules to mix a Trance Nation Harder CD.

If only Ferry would come to Portugal... or if his stuff was released here...
No matter, I'll go somewhere else to see him... I just cannnot die without seeing him live... He changed my life.

Yeah, that's a cool track. Anyone know where the vocals are from??

Posted by Hitman on Dec-19-2003 16:59:

He did produce a number of classics, but a live performance by Ferry is just plain boring
