ive been in debate about this. if theres another terrorist attack, bush may use it to attack the democrats, saying that they are soft and will do nothing. unfortunately some people will buy into it and vote bush. ill be with occrider and hope that if dean is the democrat candidate that clark is his vp, not only for his economic background but military experiance as well. although dean has two generals backing him, but not sure if they have any economic background to get occrider's vote or are vp qualified.

How appropriate

The Word of the Day for Dec 21 is:
vaticination \vuh-tih-suh-NAY-shun\ noun

*1 : prediction
2 : the act of prophesying

Example sentence:
The Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court could make his vaticination "I will blot out the sun" because he knew the exact day and hour of a solar eclipse that occurred in the year 528.

Did you know?
When George Orwell's novel 1984 was published in the late 1940s, a displeased critic said it broke "all records for gloomy vaticination." (In Orwell's favor, another critic asserted, "It is impossible to put the book down.") Happily for us, Orwell's direst predictions for 1984 didn't come true. While it's about as difficult to predict the future of a word as the future of the world, hindsight reveals that "vaticination" has endured better than other words based on the Latin "vates," meaning "prophet." "Vaticinian" (prophetic), "vaticinar" (prophet), "vaticinatress" (prophetess), and "vaticiny" (prophesy) have all faded into obscurity (although two synonyms of "prophetic," "vatic" and "vaticinal," also keep the "vates" lineage alive today).

*Indicates the sense illustrated in the example sentence.

So, Orwell was off by a decade?

This is all well and good but I lost respect for Micheal Moore a while back, its not for what the man stands for but for what he doesn't. How is it that we never here what the remedies for the ills in our world are from Micheal Moore and ultra left liberal chronies like himself.

He has proposed remedies in many of his books, are any of them any good? well thats debatable, in a letter to Arafat in Stupid White Men he proclaimed that the Palestinians should take the pacifistic Ghandi approach, now what are the odds of that happening? ;p

I agree with MrSquirrel that his trying to counter-balance neo-con right wing propaganda, his remedy to the ills in the world is to sway public opinion

If there is one more attack then martial law could/would be forced upon us, thus suspending our Constitutional rights. Under such circumstances, it's very possible that there would be no 2004 election.

Clark's not interested in being VP.

Presidential hopeful Clark: it's commander-in-chief or nothing
Sun Dec 21, 1:34 PM ET Add U.S. National - AFP to My Yahoo!

WASHINGTON (AFP) - Presidential candidate Wesley Clark (news - web sites) said in an interview that he would not accept a vice-presidential slot, even from front-runner and fellow Democrat Howard Dean (news - web sites).

"I'm not, really not interested in even talking about it," Clark told ABC News.

Clark said Dean had offered him the number-two spot in a meeting early in September. Clark announced his candidacy on September 17.

"As a matter of fact, (Dean) did offer me the vice presidency. And what I told him was, that's not the issue," Clark said.

"The issue is whether I'm going to be the commander-in-chief and run to be the commander-in-chief or not," the retired general and former NATO (news - web sites) commander in Europe said.

"I believe I'm the best qualified person to protect the United States and take us successfully forward into the 21st century."

Dean leads a pack of nine Democrats jostling for their party's nod to tackle Republican President George W. Bush (news - web sites) in November 2004.

I've heard Dean speak:

http://www.deanforamerica.com/media/DeanTXjune9Big.mov

He's a great speaker and fires up the base of his party, but I hope Clark wins the nomination because Dean is more likely to get his ass kicked in the South and probably the Midwest as well. My great uncle who is a Navy Veteran (many vets in my family), usually votes Republican, but says he will vote for Clark if he wins the nomination. I think Clark would get many people in the middle, and that's where you win elections; not on the fringes.

Now, if Dean were to reach out to Southerners and choose a Southern running mate and potential cabinet, that could be at least a partially effective strategy.

I've been reading/discussing about the Iraqi war since a year now, and I haven't read a intelligent pro-bush remark since then (they actually said we were jalous of the American military power). On some boards, they couldn't win a decent discussion about this conflict and we (a friend and I) were being cursed at and ignored after saying 'It is a little pathetic that a bunch of adult pro-american patriots can't even discuss with two dutch seventeen year-old students who speak in a foreign language, without getting abusive.' People like Michael Moore won't make that big a difference. People are in theater's, laughing at the part where he shows the amount of innocent kills America has been responsible for in the last 50 years or so. And people like Noam Chomsky are systematically being kept out of mainstream media. Moderators on boards are deleting anti-american posts, because they are so brainwashed by filthy american propaganda. Ask an average american his opinion about Communism and he'll propably say something like: I hate those f*ckin' fascists (as they don't even have a fucking clue about how communism works).
Bush is talking about the link between Saddam and Bin Laden, even though the CIA says there is no link at all. I wonder how people are still able to take this puppet seriously.

Hopefully, people like Michael Moore will always exist and will get mnore attention by mainstream media in the future

Ok, I'm not exactly positive, but I was flipping channels Friday night, and I got to Fox tv and I could swear to god, I saw Michael Moore being previewed for a guest appearance on the tv show cops (could have been another show later on ... not exactly sure). At any rate, he was hassling some guy buying a christmas tree or something like that. Unfortunately I didn't stay to watch the show, but I found it extrememly humorous. Somebody's busy promoting their book

next time i won't post the name of the person who wrote the story, all you have discussed so far is weather moore is good or bad
