Its pretty big in the UAE, Zabiela is actually spinning there on NYE if I remember correctly. Also I believe Sasha hit up Beirut recently too. Last time I was in Lebanon I wasn't into electronica so I really couldn't tell you how strong the scene is there (although most definitely not prominent)

why do we fight about middle east? You all sounds like George Dubya Bush . I was wondering if the middle east has scene or not 
Anyways , it would be cool to see Iraqis go to rave 
one of my good friends told me once that Syria had a popular underground scene... hard to believe though for nothing else but I have only met one Syrian who loves trance (my best friend)...
Most Arabs I meet don't dig trance... There's still stuck on George Wassuf...bleh
By meaning "trance and techno," you most likely mean psytrance and goa. And, yes, it's pretty big in most middle eastern countries and in India (which, of course, is NOT in the middle east).
However, when I went to India 2 years ago- commercial trance was in. I remembered being offered dozens of albums which had tunes fron Basement Jaxx and Safri Duo (which is understandable with their World Cup hit featuring Ayla).
And btw, it really does piss me off when people refer India as in the middle east or better yet, to quote one ignorant American I met, "Oh fuck, it's the same thing." Same thing, my ass.

I think this countries are in the middle east: Lebanon, Qatar, Bharain, Syria, North Yeman, South Yeman, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, Kuwait, Jordan, Oman, Afghanistan, United Arab Emirates, Pakistan and Isreal
Other countries that i dont really know very well where they belong to (Asia or Europe)...: Armenia, Georgia, Cyprus, Tajikistan, Kazakhastan, Azerbajian, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Georgia, Kyrgistan???? (dunno how to spell)

itz really funny to see how people deviate from the topic....
Anyway, the electronic scene out here in the middle east is pickin up especially in the U.A.E. I guess the scene in Lebanon & Bahrain is good cos u got some of the local djs from there playin in the U.A.E from time to time. You've got a lot of decent clubs out here as well...
This year we had Sasha, Deep Dish, Anthony Pappa, Danny Howells among other djs playin in Dubai....
As 4 the trance scene, itz pickin up slowly but majority of the crowd's in2 r&b.
hopefully things shud improve in the near future....
And 4 those of u who arent sure bout the countries tat make up the middle east, they're Oman, U.A.E, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Yemen, Iraq, Iran, Syria, jordan, Lebanon & Israel...

someone on here said that people from Jordan sometimes come to Israel to go to clubs and parties there, not sure how valid that is though

But its still retarded scene anywhere around middle-east, prolly israel is the most advanced one in psy-goa scene. Otherwise its just commercial crap again

well the scene in lebanon is big i'm sure of that, but its slowly developing in other countries like UAE, in Dubai the scene is getting bigger but they r more into house, they had Sasha, Deepdish, Smoking Jo, Sander K, and they r having James Zabiela(OMG)for NYE, they also have weekly promoters like hed kandi and MoS.
but in rest of the middle east the crowd is huge but no scene
i know i've been hard core for the longest time, and alot of them are into the crappy cheesy commercial @*$#% like scooter, ian van dahl....etc and they're also into R&B.
