What a pointless argument. Luke said "this was a nice remix" which doesnt really make sense. "That was a nice remix" and "this is a nice remix" are right. So coup is right when he says he shouldve said "is", but not for the reason he stated.

That is how everyone who speaks English outside of North America says it.

I know they are odd....I got used to it from reading a lot of Australian newspaper articles online a couple years back.

Of course, it is coming from an Australian and most people up here couldn't understand one 90% of the time anyway.

Ah the irony, an american bashing someone else about their English/Accent.

Howdy cowboy?

if he didnt finish it or it is now shit (although luke said it was good now so this wont be the case) , then it is "was".

otherwise it's "is"

I have a question. Where would you guys put the apostrophe in this persons name in this sentence?

Enclosed please find medical records from Dr. bla bla regarding Maria Matoss IME.

I said it goes like that (the way I just wrote it). This chick I work with corrected it and said it should be...

Maria Matos IME.

The apostraphe only goes at the end w/ no s when the word is plural right? Please tell me Im right...this is like high school English and Ill feel stupid if Im wrong considering I qualified for English honors in my college placement test.

well i asked my mom and she and her coworker both said i'm wrong. if ANY word ends in s there is no s after the apostrophe. i could have sworn that s' only applied to an actual plural word. oh well.

Actually, when the word is single and ending in an s, either "'" or "'s" are accetable.

For example, both "Jesus' sandles" and "Jesus's sandles" are correct.

But wouldn't that be "sandals"?

I was not bashing your accent, I was merely stating a point about how for some reason a lot of northern hemisphere folks have a hard time understanding Australians.

They did after all, overdub Mel Gibson in Mad Max up here because they thought he was "too hard to understand".

On another note, I was always taught that s' is only for plural words. When it is singular ending in s it is "s's".

My 2 cents which is actually worth 3 Australian cents.
