Maybe that's due to the fact that Scooter's official website is www.scooter-techno.com or something like that. Should their "fans" know any better? They're being brainwashed by their "god" that they produce and spin techno.

my freind... he thinks every dance music he listens to is trance lol. its funy

Posted by Billabong on Jan-01-2004 12:23:

All the artists mentioned before i was goign to mention, i hate it when tunes made by pop star people like kylie etc get classed as trance, that really annoys me. My friend bought the lasgo album to listen to some trance and was dissapointed when i told him what i thought about lasgo.

Sometimes i should tell the monkey in my head what i think about things instead.

I agree completely. It is quite surprising to see how ignorant people can be. But it all stems from the fact that anyone unoblivious to dance music would consider it 'repetitive'. Hehe, i've seen people who say Leftfield is trance! Guess ignorance knows no bounds...
What really pisses me off is people saying all trance music sounds the same...ignorant fu**s...
Current favorites:
Mario Piu-Incanto(Joy Mix)
Matt Hardwick Vs. Smith and Pledger - Day One(Above and Beyond Mix)
Empirical Labs - Turtle Beach
Rio Klein - Fearless(Agnelli and Nelson Mix)
Sarah McLahan - Fallen(Gabriel And Dresden Anti-gravity Mix)
Gouryella - Ligaya (Yoji Biomehanika Remix)

I simply put up the ignore sign, since it is pretty clear that the person who asks such a question doesn't even know what constitutes Trance Music as opposed to garbage. Why even try to enlighten pop idol boppers on the subject when they can listen to Britney and Christina et.al. 24/7. To like pure Trance you have to personally appreciate the meaning behind the sounds, not because its what everyone likes.

There's the opposite that makes me tick all the time. I take my trance mixes to work to have a little something to listen to and of course all the time people say:"Oh you like techno music, ha ?" I don't remember ever taking a techno mix to work, sometimes it was chill out and the reactions didn't change. Anything other than rap, rock or house that has electronic instruments in it most people will call techno and most of the time trying to explain the difference will turn out to be a total waste of time.

Thumbs down not trance

Mark oh
Scooter
Ian van Dahl
Lasgo

uhm whats genere is this? pop\dance?

Posted by Bernd_Gradish on Jan-03-2004 14:56:

Might be a little offtopic, but back in the days when I played my first few gigs someone came to me and ask if I could play trance right after I mixed tunes like Riva - Stringer, Marco V - Simulated,...

I agree. It's the same with songs from Mike, Armin & Ferry. I mean, wtf. Since when did Ferry make trance?

Next they'll be telling us that Cosmicman makes trance, I mean, really!

Posted by Shad0wmaster on Jan-03-2004 19:05:

a couple of girls i knew insisted that scooter = trance...till one of them heard Armin - Sunburn, and now she knows better.

Posted by Wilson on Jan-03-2004 19:25:

whether you like it or nots kids, dj sammy & flip & fill etc ARE trance, theyre just really tacky and commercial (unlike all other trance acts....hahaha)

Posted by sleepydragon on Jan-03-2004 19:26:

anything thats commercial bassicly

Posted by DarkViper on Jan-03-2004 19:27:

Scooter, Special D, Groove Coverage Jan Wayne etc...

Most people who have no idea about trance call those artists trance here in germany - that kinda makes me sick.

I agree on Andain - Beautiful Things not being trance. I'd rather think it's kind of a progressive sound with much influences from pop (esp. the G&D Unplugged Mix).

me mates always used to think trance was shite, however, if you ever looked at their cd collection, it was all commercial crap. also, some of them listened to kissfm (here in blighty it plays "dance" music/basically hiphop, rap, garage etc.) an they dont play trance, jus dj sammy etc. it seems a common misconception that what they heard on the radio is trance at its best - ask me and its cheese, no better, only worse

another thing - i got tired of this so i let one o me mates borrow a cd of dumonde@trance energy, that shut him up good an proper

jus member, cheese is not trance, its an entirely different sub-genre of pop
