This is the super high res image rizen, as NYCTrancefan posted above. Works for me. It's a 4MB 2500x2750pixel image.
Looks awesome. I've been staring at it for the past 10 minutes. It's just a dusty desert plain but you'll be amazed how facinating it is to look at, especially the bottom right corner where what looks like mud has been exposed by the retracting airbags of the lander.
I believe 3d stereo images at this resolution are coming. This part is just a section of the full panoramic to come, then they'll take another picture slightly off from this one to create the 3d images.
A low res 3d image can be found here:

So where are all these landing sites in relation to some of the most famous landmarks on Mars, like Valles Marineris, and Olympus Mons (27km high, 500km wide, 6km high cliffs at its base)?
Well check this out:
http://www.giss.nasa.gov/tools/mars24/
Simply click on the "View Mars24 Browser Applet" link and you're set. Program marks all landing sites from all past and present Mars missions, and major Mars landmarks, shows sun position and lots more.
If you're interested in finding the exact landing sites (zoom right into the surface; high res images):

Here's something interesting also: how they're going to find the exact landing positions of Spirit and Opportunity using the orbitng Mars satellite cameras:

I'll never get lost on Mars now, whew
.
neat stuff, thanks b1_
Yay! Spirit is on the surface of mars and enthusiastically executing celebratory donuts as we speak - vrmm vrmm

damn those space terrorist, first the shuttle now our cool little rover
Oh well that's space for you, I wouldn't hold my breath that they will resume full contact with it, after all the Brits are still waiting for Beagle.
Some kinda good news about the current rover problems. Also, the second one is set to touch down tonight. It looks like this landing may be more difficult than the first one. Here's hoping all works out with both our little RC buddies.
Rover getting better
Yup, the other rover is set to land in about 2 hours, and there was good news about Spirit tonight. I love the fact that we're just littering that planet with robots right now. I've got a warm and fuzzy feeling.
Don't forget to check out live coverage:

Bit over 1 hour to landing.
Here we go! Entering the atmosphere right now at 11,500 miles/hour, 24 times the speed of sound. We'll know in 6 minutes.
NASA does it again! Spacecraft is on the surface and transmitting that it's okay!

Go Arnie you photo-op whore
.
Interesting. Al Gore is there too. Photo-op whore.
Whoa...babes at NASA!

I guess that's guys in a nutshell.
. There don't appear to be any rocks at all, it's all sand.
Nice - thanks for the pics. It does look really different, and it also looks like the airbags made some cool impressions on the surface.
Looks like Spirit is back on course after all, once they cleared out the file memories it was able to send back a pic today. Wonder if they are using any Microsuck products on board.
Yep. Just a few more tests before they can say that Spirit is back to 100%. Few more days for those. It looks good now that they've emptied the flash memory of some data they used before the landing they don't need anymore.
They're just sent the command to roll Opportunity onto the suface of mars also. They just waiting for confirmation all was okay. Some new pics on the way no doubt. It'll be making a b-line for that rock outcropping no doubt.

brrrm
And this from the spaceflighnow site:
"Scientists just proclaimed that Opportunity has verified the existence of gray hematite at the landing site. This is a mineral that usually, but not always, forms in the presence of water.
The Mars Exploration Rovers were sent to the Red Planet to look for proof of past water"
...and six days later:

Brrrrmmm put put put.
Might get done for speeding ya think?
(or driving while under the influence by the look of those tracks).
