i'd have to say armin being my number one choice. his mixing is fucking smooth.. i dont know.. the way sets are put out like the tiesto magik 6 (best mix set ive heard full stop).. thats how i like my sets, and i just dont get that vibe from a tiesto set nowadays.. armin however... to me its like these dutch men are exchanging 1st, 2nd and 3rd spots on that trance podium and right now armin is definately sitting at number 1 for me.

tiesto couldnt produce a good song to save his balls these days...and his remixes are even worse..

i agree tiesto plays a fresher set and his programming is spot on but armin rocks the fuckin kazbar and the only reason u gimps complain bout him playing all known stuff is cos he breaks these tracks on his OWN radio show

so technically tiesto is the better dj but armin provides the most fun

I'd have to say Armin in both aspects. Few years ago I would have said Tiesto but hes recent productions are just a bit too slammy for me and I prefer the more uplifting stuff.

Tracks like Traffic/Lethal Industry can not be compared to with the likes of say From the Heart or Burned with Desire.

and by balls I mean the courage to do something other than floaty euro-trance...the music is good and all...I personallty find that a lot of the tracks are missing some sort of key ingredient...cept maybe Slipstream

well the way i'm gonna do it, is to pit my fave armin remix against my fave tiesto one:

armin, sky falls down VS tiesto, silence

in that respect, armin wins.

now for my fave armin production against fave tiesto one:

armin, burned with desire VS tiesto, magik journey

again, armin wins.

...BUT tiesto wins overall on default cos he made magik 6. that album transcends everything. that is all.

Tiesto wins only cause he's got RED CHERRY LiPs in every photo I've seen him in. Armins Hair line is slowly receding, by the time he reaches Oz hell look like John Flemming.
The only way that Armin can beat Tiesto at this point is to release a track Like Blue Fear again (one wonders if he will ever achieve this again, in reference to his latest cheesyness eg, Burned with Desire LOL, sorry Im lactose intolerant.)

Alternatively Armin could once again Team up with his Long time musical Partner Ferry Corsten and revive that awesome group BROS, with a hit single like the classic "When will I be famous".

they were good for a bit, but they get old so quickly, Blue fear and communication are not timeless, they dont get boring fast.

Tiesto - Traffic, some dont like it, but to those who do i feel this one wont age quickly either, its not the most complex track, but i dunno there is just somethign about it that i think it will be pulled out in years to come.

anyways it all depends on if you like

A) dreamy trance, were u stand there sharing the love (i like this)
B) energetic trance with intense breakdowns (i like this more)

I have to say Tiesto too. His songs have the balls as someone said before, while Armins songs are dreamy uplifting trance. Depends what you like.

Like the remix of Adiago, in the breakdown when that synth hits you it just pumps the whole crowd.

I'm still going to love Armin for 6hrs in few days time
