Lol, I got a CDJ800 if any1 wants 1 for either 600-700 that's a LOT better then that, and it's still cheaper.....If no-one is interested I'm not going to buy the 2nd one then??????

virgin are getting rid of all their dj stuff including vinyl (well thats gone)

They seem like good cd players, they just need to make them with a platter like the CDJ-1000.


Wade i wouldnt have actually bought it, i would go for the 800 also, BUT if you wanted something compact i think this would be the way to go.

I would love to take the second cdj-800 off your hands.... let me think about it, but im dirt broke, but its so cheap.

This is true....I had only played on 100's, and I had a gig using 1000's as the CDJ's a short while ago and was kind of worried, but they were piss easy to use....a little different due to the bigger jog wheel, but all the motions are the same and those bpm counters make the cue times hella quick....

i use 100s quite often - and because i learnt on them i find them piss easy to use, the three inbuilt effects are OK.. but the novelty wears off, you are better off getting more expensive CDJ's if you want loads of effects,

btw, i have a pressie for us all

i guess i had better start saving now.. [or selling the car/house .. or both!]

True except for the Dennons though I find their searching is really different. Also if you learn on the 100s then u will be able to use any cdj out there. It this is the case then why do i have to always make sure i have cdj 100s there for you and not any other model :P :P


Also Muli Icebox definately has cdj 100s as far as I am aware they always have even when they used to have the pioneer DJM 500 mixer not there current DJM 3000.

but keep in mind the left cdj is dodgy and was fucking up everytime i used it, i took a gamble and did use it though. they need it looked at

yeah the jog dial on the 100s tends to get a bit wonky over time, you have to be gentle with it

Ok guys a few of you have said i should learn on CDJ 100's. THing is i used CDJ500s at Home in the Silver room, and they are piss easy to use, thats not a problem.

2nd thing is i simply do not have the money for Pioneer cdj1000 and stuff. It would take me farkin years to save up that much, in between buying records and having a life. Hence why i was interestyed in the smaller cheaper ones. The main things ill be using them for are parties, and home use. I mean i dont even have technics decks, ive got amdj decks, and they are gold. Never done me any bad, i mean for starting and stuff i think they are better, so you can just trash them and it doesnt matter. Once i can actually start getting back a bit of money from djing then il be able to upgrade myself, but until then ive gotta make do with what ive got!

I then fed a variable clock frequency into the CD player, and bingo! the CD player was pitch controlled. My first couple of circuits were just a really simple Resistor-Capacitor oscillator, but that had the problem of changing pitch when you put your hand near the slider! Sort of like theremin, but not really all that good for matching beats. I then started to try to make a voltage controlled oscillator, and came up with the pitchman circuit. This has gone through a couple of different versions, and although the current version is pretty good it could probably be improved apon a bit more. Here I am, slowing down the spinning CD player with my finger. This actually works, and you can hear the pitch bend down,

maybe cos thoese pioneer 100s was the first cd decks i started on, gotten use to the feel of them and
i tired others but i dont like them really.

sorry can't help on this one.

If you're after a good /cheap/ deck with all the bells'n'whistles, have a look at the Denon 5000, apparently you can buy 1 for $1.2-$1.4K somewhere.

Bare in mind that they half "Alpha Track", which basically means you get 2 decks in one They have 2 stereo outputs, and can play 2 tracks at once.

Now, I've never used one, but I know 2 DJs now that are quite happy with them.

But as always, TRY BEFORE YOU BUY! No amount of advice will placate you if you buy it and find you hate it
