Big and Not
I personly like the tunes played at the Guv. but I am not to crazy on a big party. It was good for a while and then just got to board of it. That's why we started Pulse to give people a smaller venue with 2 rooms 2 sounds of some of the best Underground DJ's in the city.

Mrs Spice is somewhat right. If you hang behind the booth, you'll be able to chat with lots of sober people (me the first). The majority on the dancefloor is still one something, but honestly I've never seen as many and so badly fucked crowd as the cracked out asians at the guv.
And TrueToTheCrew: beautiful people are at Aria on Saturday's, Fridays is more of a "raver" crowd, heck the trance and techno music. Also, 99% of the beautiful people in town don't even bother with after-hours, they go to their 10-3 clubs and go back home (or the motel
)
But anyways man, I don't know whey you bitch at Aria for that.
The only good looking people I saw in Toronto where the ones at a stop 200 kms out of the city
hahahaha
ok the last one was a joke
don't get offended TA chicks
Truely beautiful girls during the whole weekend in Toronto, I could count with two hands.

| Originally posted by ShAwZy HAHAHAHAH, ya right. Sorry I have to disagree with this statement even though it is your opinion. I've been to Aria about 5 times now and most people there are not sober. I also had about 4 people on one night come up and ask me who Danny Howells was, might be different with Trance DJ's but if they are there for the music they should at least know who the DJ is. I personally like Aria just because it is something different, who cares who has the better club and all that shit, some of us do it for fun. |

i must say there are some damn attractive men at aria (note: i am a girl, i think people on here think i'm male
)

agree with the comments on GUV
that place is nothing more than an asian crackfest on saturday nights right now, there is no vibe, nor is there any energy in that room either for that matter...
its NOTHING like the GUV I knew when I first started partying there in 99...
meh whatever, i could care less...
i'll only go there if there is a DJ im DYING TO SEE play there...but even then im kinda skeptical about going there...
thank fuck for BOA coming along, hopefully System wont be so bad (sound-wise) either when they get renovated this year...
I think so too
I don't like the big party anymore. There is lots of smaller partees to go to like (SYSTEM SOUND BAR/PULSE/BOA)
I'm with you. Will never go back to the Guv on a regular Saturday night. It's just gross. If I was with a large group I may wander about The Drink or Skybar in the summer but forgot the mainroom. I would consider going there for a special event if there was a DJ I really wanted to see coming thru but even then I'd prefer not too.
I am thankful for the movement towards the KOOL HAUS for special events as it never seems as crowded and the people in the crowd seem to be into the music more. Without the aid of glowsticks. I don't actually think that anyone dances in the Guv anymore as there are always too many people walking thru the crowd ruining the vibe. Just find a spot and dance already! Not that there is ever any real room to dance in Guv during a big event anyways.
GGGOOOO ZONE!!!!
MAAAAAAAAAAAAN! just go 2 the zone!!!!
the comfort zone rules no matter what anyone else says... just go there! i've met many cool ppl there, imo excellent music even better than at the guv, n just an awesome place... aaah i love it
goo! spadina and college.. go on devine sundays
Woo Hoo!! I'm with him (her?)! ^^^^^^^

The sign itself is cool but damn...when Tiesto was in town last year at the Guv, I got one of those horns right in the ear and fuck, it was ringing for 2 days after. Oh, and if that's actually you in the picture...welcome to TA. We have a shortage of nice looking females around here. |
hey ppl!!!
..I gots a question for yas all!!
- if the guv/kh and aria, and such clubs have so many cons, and few pros, what is it that makes the ideal club experience for you??!!...lets have some constructive criticism for once!!!!!

not to trash anyones opinion of one club or another but i'm a big fan of the saying "there's no boring places, just boring people"...if you really want to have a good time you will, regardless of whether or not a club or a dj is living up to the standards you were hoping for...if you need the music or the aura of a building to make your night then you're setting yourself up for a fall before you ever get there...
i've never had a bad night at a club....sometimes it's fun and sometimes it's amazing and most of the time it's somewhere in between....
walk into a club with a positive attitude and in a party mood and it should take something pretty big to ruin your night.....at least that's the way i approach it....

torontobarfly is right, but club setting, sound quality, ligthing system, etc. plays a role in how people will interact with others in a 6-7-8-9 hours marathon.
