Elevation - Hey You

...

I really dig Hey Ya, it's just fucking great. The only tune I enjoy when clubbing at the commercial-clubs here in Norway. (there's no real dance clubs with dj's who play electronic music anywhere )

Oh yes, and of course the occasional Benny Benassi! wohoooooooo

Don't for get Ms.Jackson, what a great song! "aaahaai apologize a trillion times"

Actually, If I were to go out and buy an album today, it'd be their's.

outkast are very good artists and creative production geniuses from the past and present .. all their songs are catchy and good .. it catches everyone's attention .. they caught my attention .. they are one of the very few artists where i actually like rap and hip hop .. (i don't know if they're considered rap to me .. ) .

but once again .. production geniuses with their tracks ... pssst... and note the word PRODCUTION ...not taking other's songs, tweeking it, and putting their name on it .. but outkast made their own beat and style ..

aNNOYing as fuck is this song

pure mainstream american barstar SHIT

Posted by Psy-Trancer on Jan-16-2004 22:39:

is there a remix or not?

Posted by DjCoz on Jan-16-2004 22:53:

Cool

I have respect for them cuz they're original, in a genre that is notorious for brainless material. I'm not surprised they used to rave cuz it seems like many people who search for originality go to the underground.

Guys, your replies are just as if I went on a hip-hop board and started posting "omg this new scooter track" actually you know what I'm not even going to bother finishing this post.

Posted by Chuck Norris on Jan-17-2004 04:06:

I don't get you people why can't you appreciate a good song for what it sounds like, not what genre it is in?

You're so pretencious about trance being "underground".

The fact of the matter is that "trance" is cheese, get over it.

I didnt base my opinion on what genre it was. Truely, it doesn't matter to what genre music is, as long as i like it.

"hey ya" is a horrible track, its too poppy and ghey and the video is a st. patricks day nightmare.

If you like the track then thats fine, thats all that matters, not other peoples opinions.

Yeah its a great tune. Their finest album is ATliens tho. Best hip-hop album ever.

Just for the sake of not turning this into a rap discussion, im gonna just say I disagree. On to the topic at hand, good song, outkast is a good group. I like Big Boi's song also.

Posted by shao on Jan-17-2004 07:14:

well, to be fair, Hey Ya is not THAT innovative. Way too remniscent of synthpop for me..

Posted by InfiniteSquare on Jan-17-2004 09:30:

maybe you home boys will like this track?

ghettomusick (benny benassi remix)

Posted by vhx1 on Jan-17-2004 10:39:

It defeinitely is a catchy track... but it started getting on my nerves after being played to death

I agree. Trance is often hi-tech pop. If that gets you off, fine but don't go around critisizing other styles of music as though trance is something a few chosen ones can appreciate. If someone even writes Sandstorm on these boards 20 people are gone mock him, but if you write Southern Sun or As the Rush Comes people get a hard on. Hypocrisy anyone? Madonnas tracks have a more underground feel to them.

If you like trance as I do, then great! Enjoy the music and let others do that as well. Just don't form opinions based on what's supposed to be cool.

Posted by Evil_Gnome on Jan-17-2004 19:09:

I used to like it before I heard it everyday on the radio about 4 times and then saw it on TV another 4 times.

Posted by mndeg on Jan-17-2004 21:44:

when i first heard it i thought they were making fun of white people and their rock bands

Posted by b i n k u n on Jan-18-2004 02:55:

some european dude requested this at my gig here in taiwan the other nite...i was playing some harder techtrance. i just gave him a funny look.

Posted by IpLaYWiTLiGhTs on Jan-18-2004 03:25:

I'm not a big rap/hip-hop fan but I like Outkast. Their first 2 singles on their new album are damn good, but haven't listened to the rest of it.

I like that remix Elevation did for "Hey Ya"...
