Speed of light but even as fast as that it would be too slow...ever thought of dimensional travelling? y'know space-time barriers and stuff, I think Stephen Hawkins wrote something like that...hyperspace and all of that...space folding I think it is called... not sure

I'm a strong believer in saying that anything is possible.. Yes according to all theory today we can't travel the speed of light,of course we become light/energy... But 1000 years from now, you think they will be as doubtfull as us

There are many interesting theorys out there now, especially with folding space. Its theoreticly possible to fold space, travel enormous distances through a short-cut in the fabric of space. Then there's wormholes, another possibility of space travel.

The big problem is however that say a space ship leaves earth in the year 2000.. Lets say its traveling at just under the speed of light, and it travels a 50 year round trip back to earth... To the space ship's crew they've aged 50 years, but to the people back on earth they've aged 1000's of years (I can't remember the number that I read)... But needless to say conventional space travel is just not feasable.. So that means the future will probably give us some very interesting ways to travel.

And the closest Star to us besides the Sun is the Alpha Centauri, a member of a triple star system, its 4.3 Lightyears away from earth. If we traveled to Alpha Centauri with the same speeds as Apollo astronauts used to get to the moon, it would take us thousands of years to reach Alpha Centauri.
