Is this really worth $75? I mean except for Scot Project and Marco V, is anyone else on that list worth seeing? So would I pay $75 to see 2 DJs live? Probably not...
Consider this, a 3 day pass to WEMF costs $80.

Posted by Shad0wmaster on Jan-24-2004 23:58:

raves in this city are usually priced like that. notice though that the first 300 are only $40...that's only $5 more than most Twisted shows.

Posted by spinswax on Jan-25-2004 00:06:

I would pay money to see Vlad and Marco V everyone else.......well earn your dues and then maybe.

Posted by qboy604 on Jan-25-2004 02:55:

Actually twisted's plaza shows usually start at $45 if i am correct. Anyhow, tickets don't hit 75$ until we've sold around 1800 tickets.

Have tickets allready gone on sale for this?

Posted by phroz on Feb-05-2004 07:33:

is there an age limit to this event? as in, are people under 18 admitted?

Posted by Shad0wmaster on Feb-05-2004 08:09:

yep. raves and massives such as this one are usually all-ages.

Posted by qboy604 on Feb-06-2004 07:41:

Tickets should be out either this week or next week. There is no age limit for this event. So pretty much, anyone can come!

Posted by vancbc on Feb-06-2004 10:34:

I'm 29, never been to a rave, got into electronica this last year, am curious and have some real boob noob questions. I've been interested in checking out a rave sometime, so this might be my chance.

Can someone tell me a little bit about these events? Are they all night events? How many people generally attend? Do people of all ages come to party, or is it sort of a narrow age range?

What about drugs and alcohol? Some media reports would have you believe that raves are the cesspits of hell. Somehow I'm imagining these are wildly exaggerated stories.

Can you bring in your own water or do you pay exorbitant prices for beverages once you are there?

LOL. Don't flame me too hard. A guy's gotta learn somehow. I'd be interested in hearing what you have to say.

Posted by Shad0wmaster on Feb-06-2004 15:15:

Here's what I've heard:

Raves are big parties, usually all night, usually all ages (I think the age range of the folks who show up is usually something like 14+). The really massive raves I've heard about are often capable of holding several thousand people (BIG ones like Innercity or Trance Energy in Amsterdam are something like 30,000 people), while the smaller ones can be at several-hundred capacity venues.

As for drugs: raves don't serve alcohol, that's why they're all-ages
Usually water and energy drinks only from what I've heard. I dunno how much water and stuff is but I expect it's probably the same as a club, around $4? There usually are a LOT of people doing drugs at raves, most often they use e, that's why it's not uncommon to encounter fucked-up people who want to give you a hug You're right that the media exaggerates the dangers of raves somewhat, but it's true that there are a ton of drugs floating around.

In my opinion, raves are generally somewhat more about the music aspect of things than clubnights are. I mean, a lot of guys go to clubs solely to try and get laid, I don't really think ravers go to raves for the same reason. It's more like to go and just have a grand old fuckin' time.

And oh, beware of the candy ravers, they're the ones you always hear about who are like 16 and show up weighted down with about 100 pounds of candy on them, whistles, glowsticks and pacifiers.

I'd SOOOOO disagree with that. I've been to a lot of raves in this city, and the large majority is there because it gives them a good place to do drugs at. Seriously, maybe 1 in 10 will actually know who the bloody headliner is. When I was spinning at IMF, I had this 17 year old kid with eyes bursting out of his head walk up to me and say "Are you Darube?" HAHAHA.

Yeah, there's a pickup aspect to clubs, and drinking is a lot less friendly than E a lot of the times, but I think Raves are just as much a place for underage people to go and party as clubs are a place for of-age guys and girls to go get hammered and pickup.
