well 40 000, that is officially but i think there were more! 50 000 i think.

in 2001 there were 100 000 visitors but they had huge problems with bus transfers (partly organisations fault, partly a combinations of factors which wasnt the organisations fault.). When the party was over a large part of the busses didnt showed up. Everybody walked to way back to the trainstation. To make things worse it started raining like hell. Some people had hypmothermia (did i spell this correctly? )

But since 2002 they built a huge bus transfer station near the festival terrain. every 2 minutes a new bus!

Due to the things happened in 2001, the organisations wasnt aloud to sell more then 40 000 tickets. But in 2004 they have permission to grow to 60 000. And maybe a 3 day festival!

Yeah, UDC should give me lifetime free-entrance to Dance Valley

Hey dude,

I'm currently living in Canada (going to Montreal this weekend BTW and will be moving the the UK in March. You've definitely convinced me to come to Dance Valley this year.

Just out of curiosity... You mention that you hope to be able to "sneak" your camera past security again this year ?? Does that mean there is a ban on video/still cameras for the event !!!???

wel officially digital photo cameras and video cameras are forbidden. But i havent had any problem with UDC (organisation of dance valley, 4 elements, carl cox & friends, impulz outdoor) concerning entering with my digital photo camera. Digital video camera is the same story i guess although i never brought my video camera to a event. But please keep in mind that is officialy forbidden. So it is on your own risk!

Thanks for the info. I have to admit that that sucks badly that it is "officially" forbidden. What do they expect when > 40,000 people get together for a party ?? That no one will bring a camera to capture memories !!!??? Anwyay, I guess the trick is to have very small ones that can be easily hidden

Cheers,
S.

like i said: i had never had a problem. I just walked with my digital photo camera. No need for hiding.

well you will be searched. so i think the only place is in you underwear.

But well if you at the entrance and they say: YOu cant come in with that video camere you say: I am a foreigner so i didnt know. make a nice story out of it and i think they wil let you in

That's wicked so it's not completely enforced.

That could definitely make for some funny stories

Will definitely do that. It's worked before in the past for other things...

no, it is not enforced but officially it is forbidden, but they are not strict. UDC is espacially at dance valley easy at the entrance. People walk in with complete picknick baskets, little tents, soccerballs.

ID-T is another story. They are very strict when it comes to digital photo cameras. You simpley can not enter with one!

UDC is a more laidback organisation. IDT is more a george w bush organisation.

HA HA !!! Too funny. Thanks again for the info. Hopefully by then I'll have a digital video camera to go along with my 2 digital still cameras. Then I'll be able to get some wicked photos/videos of Dance Valley...

Rasta dance valley video

Is it possible to download the dance valley video? Yesterday i could not. Please help me.

Posted by Laszlo on Feb-06-2004 16:38:

The video has been taken down from the server.

Two weeks should have been enough for everybody to catch it. Unfortuantely I can't have it on the server anymore since it has used over 10 gigabytes of traffic over the last week. Hope you all had a chance to download it.

Cheers

I hosted the video on my own server, but as I said in a previous post - the video took up 10 gb's of bandwidth within just a week, and that was more than enough.
