-- Why do people get autographs?

I don't like autographs for money, more like a memory of the night. My memory is shite as it is, so when I have one of those and stumble upon it later I can remember the good times. I've had PvD, Ferry, Armin, Deep Dish, Marco V etc sign their own productions to remember the night.
Plus in this area, you can't really tell who's just a person who came looking to get some ass from someone who's there and support's the artist, so I think it's a good way to know how people feel about their work. Just my $15 bucks.

a couple of days ago when Armin was in Sydney, Australia, he signed my stuff but on one my vinyls he drew a stick figure person wearing headphones hehe... i would take a pic but no Digital Camera here.

But yeh, autographs are sometimes pointless depending on the status of the person. The people who say it's meaningless and they would never do it...pfft, as if you wouldn't want to get your shit signed if PVD or any other big DJ was standing in front of you.

But like all other people, i don't get my shit signed with a vision of cash in my head of how much this will be worth. It's the satisfaction that the maker of that vinyl is leaving his trademark on it.

I get autographs so i have something to look back on years down the road in terms of great memories. I like to collect them. I have a decent amount....hopefully more in the future.
Does Tiesto usually sign at shows?

sometimes its cool to get autographs from a band or someone thats not famous yet...

and then when they are famous, u can say that you have their autograph.

happened to me with Good Charlotte. Everyone knows who they are now,but i saw em before they were huge, before they were signed on to a record company and all that jazz. and I have their autograph. wow, story of the year eh?

well i got this signed, and i thinks it kind of kool when u get their own stuff signed, like CD covers, record sleeves etc... and i think its a bit of showing off 2, showing ppl that u got signed copy etc, and one day it might help u retire!

Autographs..

Well, for me its about the memories if anything..I have a white longsleve shirt I wear sometimes out to shows in which I have the djs sign, its usually after chatting with them for awhile during their sets, I see if they dont mind signing it...I havnt worn it in awhile now, but the sigs on it now are, PVD, Armin, tiesto, ferry, gabriel/dresden, deepdish, oakenfold. Its in my closet, however once in awhile I see it and smile.. ehhhh the stories..

i saw puff daddy recently at crobar...he was standing next to me waiting for his car from valet like we were...i was just like, "what's up puffy"? i think they like it better if u just say hi to them.

i have a pic w/ steve o from jack ass...better than an autograph.
