listen to me! im the wise one. rachel is mmh. the messenger 
whoever thinks the BBQ is a nightmare waiting to happen is correct.
I've set up events from big to small and even just the 15-20 person Atlanta TA dinners people constantly walk out on checks / don't chip in so someone is going to lose a LOT of money if they buy a whole bunch of stuff beforehand and expect people to pay that night.
I voted dinner. It's much easier all around. Furthermore I say we go to Porcao, it's a really excellent Brazillian restaraunt built into a hotel about 1 mile away from where Ultra happens (bayfront park/downtown).
If you aren't farmiliar with them, the type of restaraunt is very cool, you pay a fixed price ($32 I believe at this location) and it's all you can eat top quality fresh cooked steak (8 different cuts), chicken, ribs, salmon, etc. Here is a decent writeup about it

I've been there many times and although the cost seems high, it's so worth it. This is of course assuming it dosen't get moved to Friday, I'm arriving on Sunday and if the dinner is before then just throw my vote out

LoL ye Ive been to Porcao.. dad payed so had no clue that it was 30 something.. anyways, yes great.. the guys even come up to the table and cut the meat in front of you.. very elegant, imagine us TA's there LOL. And yeah, Fridays.. it was a mess for the Armin meetup.. not that much of a mess, but very..crowded. At the end, everyone had to put extra money couse the bill seemed higher for some odd reason.
I like this Porcao idea.
It'd be nice if we could AT LEAST get to know each other on Friday night so we party together Friday night, during Ultra and after Ultra, and then we could have a more formal meet up on Sunday night.

- Yeah, I think that meeting up ( For those who can, there will be plenty ),we should arrange a Pre PvD meetup ( Although I know I cant go to PvD heh ).. but just to meet you all, and then part @ Ultra heh.

Hi everyone, sorry to but it to this thread without going to participate in the BBQ or dinner, but err....
I am considering coming over for sunday 7 and monday 8, and I was wondering, since it's only for two days...if anyone has any hammocks or dog sheds available where I can put my head to rest

I vote for...dinner! Porcao seems like a great choice!
Saturday meet up!!! that is my only minute window of opportunity to see you all,... PvD i doubt will happen so Saturday is it,... unless we're all down for a sunday breakfast?? j/k
