Everyone has their own opinions about drugs and what's right/wrong about them... it's been argued millions of times... it's hopeless to try and argue about it some more...

I agree with Sylphin in that drug-related incidents are causing shutdowns and giving the rave scene a bad rep. However, it is not drug users that are giving it a bad rep. There are a specific group of people that cause these incidents and make the government frown upon raves... they're called "morons".

Morons are the ones who go to raves and overdose on E... morons are the ones who pack pistols into clubs... morons are the ones who start fights... morons are the ones who do stupid shit because they're too wasted or stoned to do otherwise...

There are stupid people everywhere... stupid people are the ones that give everyone else a bad name, in any situation... the only way the government can control the small population of stupid people is by keeping them from places where they might do stupid things... like raves.

These people are the ones to blame. Don't generalize it and say that all drug users are ruining the scene, when in fact it's only the stupid ones. Making a generalization like that makes you no better than the government.

And to the people who think that drugs 'enhance' trance music: I don't understand how you can call yourselves tranceaddicts in the first place. Being a tranceaddict means having the utmost appreciation for the music... To most of us, it doesn't get much better than listening to your favourite trance tune. Having to take drugs just to make the experience better just shows that you can't appreciate the music on its own. Regardless of the part that drugs have played in making the scene what it is today, trance music is no longer just music to listen to while you're stoned. Regardless of whether it's booze, drugs, whatever... if I'm gonna go see my favourite DJ spin, I wanna be in my right state of mind. If you can't appreciate it for what it naturally is, then maybe you're not a real fan.

Confused Hard Topic !

I party with a wide variety of people some do drugs some just drink...when we put anything in our bodies we must take responsibility for ourselves first and foremost.

There's alot of stupid people out there who do too much but I've been there too. I done E many time's and I've had one occasion where it put me on my ass every E is different. I was a mess...oh well you deal....Last time I was at life we had a friend who started to puke......oh no every one thinks he's on G........nope dumb ass had too much to drink ...and crossed the line...when someone drinks to much it's funny when someone is too fucked up on drugs there a crackhead..Fuck it.

Funny though were there not drug problems in the late 70's early 80's with the Disco scene coke, acid, speed.....the music changed and the drugs change but people will continue to do what they please and find ways to get high to music............

First of all, u go clubbing or partying.....what do u do? whatever it is u do dont matter to me!!....

u know why? cause when i do E (my 1 or 2 pills per month if i do anything at all), its because i enjoy my party not to enjoy my music...

here u r saying dont generalize and all that crap, yet your doing the samething....im personally starting to get pissed off about this drugs crap, i do what i do, u do what u do, keep it to yourself

why must people always judge others, i dont like to drink .....i mean WTF, every single forum has to have a thread about drugs are bad and people come back and say whatever they have to say....try leaving the people alone, we do appreciate the music, thats why we listen to the music, not everybody is hopped up on some kind of drug 24/7 just to enjoy the fucking music....

just learn to accept each other for crying out loud and stop judging everybody, all these people criticizing society...welll you know what?! your no different!

There's a difference between going to a club or rave for the music and going to party... If you're only going just to party, then I understand wanting to get wasted or stoned or whatever... but what I'm talking about is that a lot of people claim that they enjoy trance music better when they're stoned... I hear people say it all the time... it has nothing to do with wanting to party and have a good time, it's about appreciating the music. I'm not passing judgments on people who get stoned at raves... it has to do with those people who think that drugs enhance listening to trance music. I don't know if you noticed, but I didn't mention clubs or raves in the part of my post that you quoted. Partying is one thing, appreciating music is a completely different thing.

You're saying to leave people alone... well, forums are made to express opinions. When someone in the Music Discussion forum says that a certain song sucks or so-and-so DJ sucks, do people tell him or her to leave the DJ alone? No, because we discuss the issue. Everyone expresses their opinions. Whether you want to agree or disagree with them is up to you, but don't tell people not to express their opinions. We're not criticizing anyone here, we're simply expressing our thoughts on a certain issue. This thread was started to start a debate. Why is it that you don't want anyone to discuss the issue of drugs, as if we should never ever talk about it? It's not like anyone's trying to stop people from doing them. If you don't like someone's opinions, ignore the person.

Dude make up your mind.....anyways i think this could go on forever, getting kinda personal instead of a debate dont ya think?

This thread isn't about drugs being right/wrong, it's about how they're affecting the rave scene. There's no use in arguing about whether drugs are good or bad... but what we're doing here is discussing how it relates to the trance music scene.

And I don't see it getting personal... but apparently, some people are "starting to get pissed off" about some of the things that are being said in this thread. It's only a discussion... there's no need for arguing...

I believe I speak for all "tranceaddicts" that do drugs, that we do enjoy the music, now ginos and wannabes on the other hand do drugs to enhance the music as they say.....

as to ur argument regarding people doing drugs and ruining the scene, is this a new thing?! drugs!?! I think drugs have been there since this music started.....as long as there has been electornic music, there has been people who use drugs, this isn't new....just because the cops and society thinks this is bad, now ur blaming us? maybe you gotta look at how u see things first, we're not ruining anything, as u said it, get "wasted" (i dont think im wasted), and party.....and now that people come around telling us raves=drugs therefore we use the people who use them as scapegoats, thats what pisses me off, why are other countries cool with it?!....think about it, look at things in a different perspective....dont go with what the media tells you!!! cause whatever you hear is what they want you to hear

Whether its speed, E, (even pot to an extent) etc. your the ones who are destroying the scene.

What's is *almost* worse is ginos and shit who go to raves to be seen. Usually taking drugs, but if their not, they're still showing off their six-pack and being generally assholes.

Fuck you.

I would say this is the kind of negative attitude and stereotyping thats "ruined" the scene. What happened to Peace Love Unity & Respect?

So what if some gino thinks hes kewl and goes to a rave and OD's....i dont hold the "scene" accountable for one persons idiocy.

You need to chill for a second, and do some research, not the kind that comes out of your ass mind you.
