i have most of if not all of oakies Essential mix world tour mixes. Havana, Buenos Aries, @Home in Space in Ibiza, Live @ Gatecrasher at Lauferton Hall, Miami, And Liverpool University. I think thats most of the essential mix world tour. This is the Oakie i like, not the jokenfold of today, though the swordfish soundtrack was pretty good, it just seems that the style he spins changed a lot between 2000 and 2k1. Kinda sad to see such a great DJ turn to such a shitty one.

I agree.. "Perfecto presents Another World" was great tough.. it's one of my alltime favourite albums..

Its true, Oakey should be like PvD said, sitck to the sound that you like and not follow the trend .. Oakey is always evolving ( as he said ) and follows whats next .. he likes to have the lead or something, but the sound he does now, is not so up there compared to his own of 99- 00 ..

Posted by ABTsportsline on Aug-05-2001 20:59:

Yeah but what you guys are all talking about, is the CD's he comes out with.... I go to at least 4 Oakey shows a years (including two already this year), and you know what? His style hasn't changed, at least not in his live sets... he still spins the same great trance, and no, its not always the same records.

But maybe that is just Oakey in Miami.. maybe he figures that if he comes to Miami, he HAS To change his format and records..... LoL..... come on people!

His Cd's styles ARE constantly changing, no doubt.. his older CD's were better, although Another World is great. But his live sets are the same old Oakey. 'nuff said!

And as Liquid X said, he is definitely always "evolving"

Yeap ! .. I saw Oakey @ Ultra, at first it wasent what yall can expect of him if you hear all those 99 - 00 sets,( whoever got the video of Him knows what I mean ) but stil, when your there, you just want to dance ! ! but once Oakey reads the crowds mind, IM telling you ... he will get to you with the tunes .. maybe not in the beggining of the set, but once he gets the taste of what people want .. expect a serious set ....
I just lOOOVE WHEN he throws that solar stone - seven cities ( vone mix ) !!!!!

its robert miles - children (tilt's courtyard dub)

for some reason people call it tilt - children occasionally, i think it might have been released as that..

Posted by ABTsportsline on Aug-06-2001 02:26:

Yah i was always under the impression that Tilt WAS Robert Miles and the name he used for the trancier mixes, but i dont think that anymore... who the hell knows??

You are right ABT, saw Oakey play last november here in aus and he played heaps of the classics he's helped make a name for. the crowd went nuts when he played tilt - rendezvous. he also played that 'feel the magic' song that i cant work out what is called (in home@space, ibiza'99 mix at 40:00 for those interested) and his remix of lemon and beautiful day... there were so many! the cool thing too was that when he was here, he took a liking to a few of the aussie DJ's supporting him and has released some of their tracks (ie - pee wee ferris - spaghettification). my only regret about it was that i didnt take the 8 hour drive to melbourne to see chicane support him

Posted by Leigh on Aug-06-2001 08:08:

by the way i have only ever seen tilt - children as a white label so maybe thats where the confusion comes from? my copy just has a printed sticker on it - was it actually released?

Posted by patticus on Aug-06-2001 08:47:

yes i have it on vinyl... tilt - children
a side = tilt's courtyard mix
b side = breeder's baroque dub
released 1999 on deconstruction.

that should settle that
