Sounds great...I'll be chopping that silence out in WaveLab, though, heh!

Posted by Bren-F on Feb-03-2004 19:59:

The silence was actually intentional.
I was trying to create an air of expectation wating for the main melody to come in. I have heard this effect used in tracks before, tho it acually sounds a bit better in a club or party where all you can hear is everyone else before the music kicks back in (should anyone play it at a club or party ) Guess it doesnt work if you are listening on a PC

Glad you liked the track anyway guys

Nice remix man, very cool breakdown. Pretty much others have said most of things that need t be said. Ilove the piano too

Don't worry what they say about the silence part Bren, coz it works in clubs just like Firewall - Sincere Pusler remix, or Pulser Cloudwalking Astral mix

The silence makes everyone goes nuts as they make noise and they wait for it......... and then...... BAM!!

Posted by Black-Dragon on Feb-04-2004 12:33:

same here..its a great remix..keep up the good work
by the way.. i love your remix to Evanescence - Hello

Black-Dragon.

I'm not familiar with the original version so I can't comment too much on what you've done, but I still REALLY enjoyed this. It's a fantastic piece of work. I think the 'silence' is fine, because it isn't actually silence at all - sounds fine when it's played loud enough. Lead and piano both sound fantastic too.

I wanna hear more stuff like this Bren.

Thanks for the replys guys.
I'm in the process of remastering it, so I'll post it on this thread when its done

Posted by State of Matter on Feb-07-2004 20:47:

Dunno how I missed this one. This sounds great Bren, though not quite as appealing as the Ace's Delight Mix. That's understandable though, that remix is the work of God. The only problem I really have with it is the overcompression of the whole mix that kind of makes the lead sound like its gasping for air. Polish it up a bit and you've got another solid production.

Posted by Bren-F on Feb-08-2004 00:33:

Cheers for the reply,

The Over-compression is something I'm fixing, should be done soo

Posted by Bren-F on Feb-08-2004 22:38:

I have now uploaded a remastered version.
It's not vastly different but it now sounds less compressed and has a warmer & pahtter overall sound

Enjoy

Hey Bren, really sweet sound on this track. I've not heard the original so cant comment on the difference Would not say its the best mix i heard from you but job well done, that break is a good idea but i think its a tad too long IMHOb but thats just me.

Sounds very nice m8.

Sounds very good! Also like your remix of Hello, nice up-tempo remix, instead of the slow version of G&D. Good job!

Really like this. Love the your transitions, they are P-E-R-F-E-C-T!!!

Also love your clap sample. You've used it b4 I think. Been trying to find a sample/recreate it for ages. Any chance you could PM me and help me out.

Basically, top notch stuff, as always. Am waiting for a vinyl release from ya. Its got to be on the cards.

Just out of interest, what set-up you using?

Am extremely interested in how you got started, your influences etc. Since I first signed up @TA, you've been someone to look up2.

Keep me updated on anything new you want reviewed.

Great remix mate!

just one thing... I found the part with the lead pad being filtered in and out at around 3:20 to sound rather odd... I think it's a good idea... but I guess try to make it sound a bit less sudden... raise the cutoff a bit more slowly... just my personal opinion

I like the bass and the kick... they fit together very well! I do think the kick is slightly overpowering everything a bit...

Didn't hear the overcompressed version, but it sounds to have a lot of dynamics in this track so that's always a good thing

Great job!

Cool

it's quite nice i like it, not as good as the ace's delight mix but better than the others imo.

i reakon the build sounds a bit empty and the square synth sounds a bit dodgy. the bass is fantastic. the synths could be a bit louder to give it some more energy. dunno wot else to comment on heh.
