Don't worry, I have heard dance music called all sorts of things. When I first moved to Sweden in 1990 with a lot of my records (Stuff like Stevie V 'Dirty Cash', Adamski 'Killer' and a load of early rave stuff they all thought it was Hip Hop. Whilst I am Swedish myself and speak it fluently, I have lived most of my life in England. I found the whole experience quite bizarre to say the least.

I would say have faith in trance though, and do what you have to. I had the same interest in Hip Hop back in 1984 and had people calling it all sorts, people telling me it was just a craze and so on. Stick with it and you will be one of the people with their finger on the pulse in the US scene. Start a radio show and people will make the association between you and trance music. Then when you have your radio show you can invite me on it...
