Communication classes? No... I was in the Vancouver DJ Pool for a bit. I learned a lot of stuff from there. It also helps if you had a friend that works at a radio station... Freeway Frank is my friend, and good luck to him in Toronto...
As for Z. They play "commercial-viable" music. Let it be Rock, Pop, or anything else. Their target audience is from 14 to 34 I believe. Their music director has to put up with songs that are proven in other markets in order to keep their audience. One decision they had regarding that, I believe, was because of "Return of the Mack." I said it before, it took them a year to push that song to #1. They are not going to do that with every other songs out there on the market.
So I sounded like a book you read, apri-peel?
so is that what happend to freeway? thats too bad hes gone. i chatted with im a few times before, we're both from mtl. nice guy, hope he can play better music on TO
yes, you did sound like one of my books, not that its a bad thing, its just that i dont meet many ppl that know that typa stuff, mostly cause we never really hear about it in a regular life. i guess in your case you learnt it from work experience
man i f******** hated return of the mack
and yes we heard it for like 2 years straight on Z
Hahaha. That's not what happened to Freeway.
He went for.... greener pasture. Yeah, and it's closer to Montreal.
I wonder what other languages he can speak...
It's the other DJ that pushed the song... Russel James I believe. Vancouver is really your standard textbook environment. Best place to learn your communication degree.
Patticus: Aww... Com'on. Let's sing it now. :Retuuuuuurn of the Mack."
YOU KNOW THAT I'LL BE BACK!
FUCK, NOOOOOOOOOOO!! *explodes*
You should have played Arenaline! - "Shut the F* up and dance."
Gosh.... I really do have no life.
i really dont know what you guys are taling about, but i know i HATED return on the mac. i remember that song hitting it big on the east coast, and then 2 yrs later when i moved to van all of a sudden the song was no. 1
i believe freeway is italian, either that or he can simply speak italian, on top of english and a lil french
Hahaha. Okay. Let me start from the beginning.
Return of the Mack was a huge hit back in the east few years ago. Russell James heard that and he wanted to push that song here since no one actually knew that song. What happened was a year of bloody promo and constant repeat of that song. Eventually it went to the number 1 position in Vancouver.
Yeah, Freeway is Italian.
