This demo is pretty sweet.

Posted by Haunted on Feb-19-2004 01:29:

insane!

Posted by CynepMeH on Feb-19-2004 03:54:

About the demo: Beginning (first few seconds) c'mon, sing it with me: "LET'S GO FLYERS, LET'S GO FLYERS"

tHE SOUND is typical AV, type - love the arpegio, armin/fery box for sure (did I hear a bit that sounded a bit like "TENSHI"?) and another one that sounded like "Communication"

Edit: @4:00 (or so) mark I creamed my pants
at 4:50 I heard "more and more by Captain Hollywod" - or am i nuts?
5:39 - Atmospheric pads are fuqin sweeeeeet!
6:07 - Castles in the Sky, anyone?
6:30 - Sash, mysterious times???? =)

Ok, verdict:

If you don't have 1300 or so bucks for Virus C, get this - it's as close as you can get to AV on this side of well spent 89 bucks. Hell, I think I'll be gettin' it myself.

Now a nice laugh for you:

What's a "VSTi", and how does it work compared to standalones?

-Newbie van producer.

How dare you EXPECT someone answer your question... This isn't tech support.

Assuming you're serious:

VSTi stands for Virtual Studio Technology (?) instrument. That means it's a plugin software that works within another software (like FL Studio or Cubase for example).

Posted by noonboy on Feb-19-2004 18:06:

I was serious, thank you very much. I'm a complete newbie when it comes to producing.

I never expected that. What I'm saying is that if you want to blame me for my sig you may do it somewhere else, like PM, or start a big noonboy-flame-thread in the chillout room.

oh sorry.. I thought you were just quoting someone or something like that.. "-Newbie van producer"

I would of answered if I knew you were serious..

There had to be something wrong. You're usually serious in your posts. No hard feelings then

that is the shit!

very good synth indeed.

still not as good as the v-station, but comes close to it

not a cpu intensive one either, which gets my vote.

In the end it wont be free because the effects probably make the sound. There is also no MIDI-processors (Arpeggitator, Glide, Pitch and Hermode-Tuning) in the lite version. But im pretty sure the upgrade is dirt cheap.

You're sort of right on that - the Lite version almost sounds like other softsynths without the FX, shows just what a difference it makes. Not sure I'm gonna spend the extra makeup just for them though - I'm gonna keep fiddling for now - it is still pretty awesome tho.

Chris,

Can you answer few quesitons about it - I didn't see it in their manual.

1. How many patches / soundbanks does it have? (can you load your own)
2. can u run multiple instances of this VSTi at the same time?
3. Can you record knob movements in MIDI?
4. Can you use it to process external signal?

Thanks mate!

cheers!

can you post those extra sound banks on here so I can use them with the demo? Or would that be piracy?

My income tax return can't come quickly enough here, hehe. I'm definitely going to buy this.

Posted by alanzo on Feb-21-2004 17:40:

I beleive Vanguard does not come with a Blank Preset, so I took the liberty of making one

Feel free to download it here and use the 3 sounds that I've programed and included with the zip
