If you read his original post you'll notice that this is not meant as a thread to post mere personal favorites. He wants a group concensus on the best tracks of all. I'm also open to others bumping my selections, because I don't know the majority opinion on all of them.

I merely booted yours because they are not considered by many I know to be "the best vocal tracks," which is the point of the thread. Don't take it as some personal insult.

WRONG. He started this thread to get tranceaddicts opinion on the BEST vocal tracks of all time. So who the fuck are you to speak for all tranceaddicts You are the kind of people that make these threads an uphill battle.

When did I claim to be speaking for all tranceaddicts? I'm merely pointing out tracks that I don't think are particularly special, and that I know others don't find exceptional either. Certainly not deserving of "best vocal tracks of all time." Just because it's on your list doesn't make it so, and the same goes for me. I think you're just getting upset because there are others who don't think your selections are particularly deserving of "best" status.

I'm not trying to make an uphill battle. I'm trying to make a single thread of this kind stick to the point rather than degenerating into "cool tunes" after the first page. There are plenty of threads for vocal suggestions, but this one is entitled "Best Vocal Tracks Of All Time." I think that adds an element of opinion between eachother's favorites.

I don't understand what's prompting all the profanity.

Dude, your topic will necessarily bring up disagreement between opinions. You didn't ask for just suggestions, and there's plenty of threads out there for that.

What's the deal with everyone getting upset? We're not allowed to criticize the taste of others? Sheesh, I didn't realize people would get so offended by dissent.

Dude my point is.......this place would be much better off if we didn't criticize others taste in music. Its the way you put it. Cocky and arrogant. I could care less if you don't think my tracks are the "best ever." Just dont be a dick about it.

Nobody's criticizing your taste, he was simply pointing out that Beachbreeze is clearly not one of the "best vocal tracks of all time". Whether you, I or he likes the track is of little import.

Really now??? Scroll up and read his previous post. Seems pretty clear to me.

If you want an accurate definition of what are the "best vocal tracks of all time," you're necessarily going to have to criticize others' selections. And "Best Vocal Tracks Of All Time" is the name of the thread. Not everyone is happy with a group concensus; it's inherently a compromise. If we just went around in a thread like this saying "yeah, I respect your selections, even though I don't agree," it would totally defeat the point of the thread. I've seen that happen a hundred times, and wanted to take a stand on it for once.

And besides, I wasn't being cocky or arrogant. Just because others won't push back without anything but swear words and insults doesn't make me arrogant. I'm expressing an opinion based on a long interest in electronic music, which you may or may not agree with. You have an equal right to do the same.

Whatever man, im not here to argue. Im sure you wernt trying to be cocky or arrogant but thats the way i took it. My bad.

Also, I never said "oh my god, you suck! What a bunch of cheese!"

I criticized tracks and pointed out tracks I thought were not the "Best Vocal Tracks of All Time." Nowhere in this thread do I attack a person, only opinions. And attacking opinions is, indeed, the foundation of diverse and free thought.

Again, I don't get what all the upset is about. "Oh my lord, a person on an internet forum disagrees with me! The horror!"

That's interesting how I never insulted anyone but you're insulting me. Kind of hypocritical if you ask me.

I can see you read none of my posts. I never laid claim to some sort of universal "bad" and "good."

Oh well. Another thread bites the dust and joins the ten thousand other "vocal track" threads.

Posted by vtec junkie on Feb-15-2004 23:43:

Armin Van Buuren - Burned With Desire
Barraka - Song To the Siren
BT - Somnambulist (best male vocals imo)
Dave Gahan - I need you

Posted by Cobalt on Feb-15-2004 23:46:

Take your pick

And that's only under the search "vocal* track" in the title.

Why dont you just STFU or post some vocal tracks instead of destroying this thread with your argumentations.. You said to certain tracks NO which means for me they suck in your opinion.. Yes = theyre good thats the way I interpret this..

Oh and I never said you insulted someone, did I ??

Because there's lots of threads for that (here are some more), and it seemed the original poster didn't want another thread like that. Just look at the title.

No, but you're more deserving of criticism than I am for attacking me personally. I never insulted a person.
