I use this little application to upload my stuff and therefore don't need to mess around with the Java. I prefer the direct FTP approach.

It's quite useful once you figure it out.
Cheers
Nem
FTP is the best way IMO for uploading stuff, no doubt
I don't know the site you posted for uploading mixes since I use my own space, but chesco if the site supports FTP uploading then use it! it's the best way really. FTPsurfer (posted by Nem) or FlashFXP should do the trick
Okay folks,
I have a domain name for this now and about 500 megs worth of space and a 35 GB bandwidth to play with so don't be shy.
So far I have recieved some good mixes but there is still room for many more. Don't be nervous, I listen to these mixes objectively with an eye on how to get everyone that submits up to the site standard so I'm not disgarding people. Just want people to get good that's all.
Don't worry about the mix being perfect. Whilst I expect you to have a certain standard the thing that concerns me most is flow. Just try and enjoy yourselves when you are making this demo and don't fret about it. See this as a practice run for a promoter or something.
Keep 'em coming folks
Cheers
Nem
I will be putting mine together today...
Then I will upload it either to globalbeatz.com or the FTP that you linked Nem. if I can figure out how to use the FTP.
Cheers.
The link I gave you was just for an uploading tool.
Globalbeatz will do fine
Look forward to hear it
All the best
Nem
Just to let you guys know I'm serious about this site here is the link to the place holder.

I will be working on this site as often as possible in order to get it up and running. I hope to get the shell for it up as by the end of next week.
I will have some practical question for some of the guys who offered to help as don't have too much experience at this.
All the best
Nem

If it's a computer related question, just give me a holler.
with regards to globalbeatz.net uploading.. i uploaded the file and it says "Thank you for submitting... bla bla bla bla"... but it doesn't give me a link to where my mix uploaded too... how can I find out what the link is?
EDIT: Nevermind.. I figured it out... Thanks
Nem, check your PM bro.
Cheers.
You then need to go and update your info here
http://www.globalbeatz.net/wwwdb/wwwdb2.php
and link it as http://music.globalbeatz.net/dj_mixes/file_name.mp3
And they don't like spaces in the mp3 name either so make sure you use underscore instead of spaces.
They also give you upload instructions on this page so it might be worth having a look at them. Took me a while to find them first time too.
Cheers
Nem

I fixed up your logo a bit, got rid of the little ad in the corner
. Yeah, I'm that bored....

This is awesome Nem, man your a busy guy, always doin something, anyway, I'm sure you've heard from DJLazy that I'll be doing a mix, well I been tryin to do one, but haven't had time really, only got back from work late, then parents are in bed, and when I do a mix, its so low I can't hear the beat and make a big cock up, then last night I tried doing one, and kept having the power cut on my, some city problem though, but its all good and should have one done by this weekend, and yea, your best mixes always go unrecorded, good luck with the site, I wish I could say I could give a hand, but I don't have much time, and I ain't very skilled at websites, just basic html, but looking forward to see what you make out of this.
